If you hate good action games, this won't be for you. Stranglehold is the sequal to John Woo's masterpiece Hard Boiled. It comes out Sept. 5 for 360 and the following week for PS3.

Awesome coming out for PC. Looks just like Max Payne, and Max Payne was awesome.

It was awesome because it was based of the John Woo films. So i hope that strangle hold is as good as it looks since it's based of the original material.

Now if they'd just add the spinning and wall walking head shots from Total Overdose.

It looked fairly good when my brother played the demo, but the sliding animation is pretty crappy.

I'm hoping for a PC demo soon. I want to give it a whirl before I buy it.

i have to admit i was underwhelmed by the stranglehold demo

shoulda just made it a Matrix game...that way "tequila time" doesnt sound/seem so FREAKIN LAME/rip-off-ish [and yeah....i know woo was in on the matrix movies...but still... i dont care. bullet time = matrix. everything else is just immitation]

John Woo pratically invented the stylish slow motion shoot out in his HK films, you wouldent even have The Matrix if it wasen't for him and the several over sources that the Wachowskis plagurised thier material from.

Not to mention that The Matrix is damaged goods in the gaming world thaks to Enter the Matrix, Path of Neo and that MMORPG that nobody plays.

    We can dream.

Stranglehold just feels like the natural evolution of the Max Payne, which of course is probably what they intended. Of coure considering Woo's influence on the Max Payne series I wouldn't have expected anything less.

No way! Without the awesome over the top Pulp atmosphere it's just a pretender to that crown :(
