    You know, it would work. Maybe someone goes back and screws up time akin to JJTrek and we have a new time line with new movies and a new direction.

    Maybe I am just in denial, but not once in the article does this man call the film a reboot. And Hailee just confirmed yesterday that the movie is a prequel to 2007 and is still in the same universe but is standalone. She legit confirmed that. Obvious Clickbait is obvious.

    You said (essentially) what I was thinking. Of course he's going to 'pimp' his own movie! To do otherwise could be career suicide.

    The only time I've heard a movie star be fairly blunt and honest was Titus Welliver who said during an Nerdist interview that TF4 was (quote) darker and not a kids movie. He later (more than likely under pressure from PR) retracted and softened his comment, which undermined his earlier honesty a whole lot; however, what's been said can't be unsaid as the internet lives forever-

    “It’s a bit more of a darker vision of the Transformers world… It’s not a kids movie, I’ll tell you that much.”

    Assuming he actually said it, it still doesn't mean much. "Reboot" gets misused so often nowadays.

    Considering how messed up the pre-2007 timeline in the universe has become even a diverging timeline would still be full of contradictory baggage unless maybe they go back to the dawn of the creators or earlier.
