John Cena Reveals When He's Wrapping Up Shooting For Bumblebee

John Cena is always busy and he’s working on some big things. One movie a lot of fans are looking forward is Bumblebee which will see Cena in the Transformers Universe for the first time as the yellow Autobot gets his own spinoff.

Cena recently revealed during a Q&A at MegaCon that he will soon be wrapping up his final touches in the movie.

“I have a very early flight in the morning to the West Coast and I know how the convention scene is where we give little inside baseball hints. I’m headed out there to do the final touches of a movie called Bumblebee.”

He said that he would love to stay and see more of MegaCon but he had to go so he could later come back as someone from the Transformers franchise. It looks like Bumblebee is right on schedule for their anticipated December 21st release date.

Obviously, pick up shooting of course. Which as we all know is normal during post-production.

Will be interesting to see who he plays.

I guess this definitely puts to rest the rumors that the movie is already finished and sitting around in the Paramount vault.

So I guess the theory that this was "finished months ago" was wrong.

Game theory, they're redoing bits of the movie that make it seem as though it's a true prequel to the 07 movie and going hard into the lane of "this is a reboot, a new continuity, like how Deadpool and Logan are the other X-men movies, but if you squint a bit they both kinda fit in."

    .
He plays a Sector 7 agent called Agent Burns. I know you've been away from here for a while. But a while ago, Cena posted a photo of him in his character costume. It was a Sector 7 outfit with the nametag Burns.

On a side note, it would be quite amusing if they namedropped Seymour Simmons or something, maybe show him at a younger age as a Sector 7 agent.

Reshoots are super common in movies now. Everything from Deadpool 2 to Infinity Wars had reshoots. There's usually two kinds of reshoots. (There's technically more, but for the sake of discussion, we'll go with these.)

The first one is after test audiences, the movie had some serious problems the audience had issues with and they went back to reshoot and add more to it. Good example of this working: Wonder Woman. Good example of this blowing up in their faces: I Am Legend. The second kind is the ideal kind. Where after the test audience see the movie, they like something a lot and want more of it in there. So they're basically filming more to give something good more time to shine. Good example: Deadpool 2. After test audiences, they wanted more Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio. So they went back in and filmed more with them.

Usually a good rule of thumb is that if you hear rumors of production troubles, then it's the first one. But seeing how we've heard of no controversy from filming of this movie... It's probably one of the good kinds of reshooting.

Never heard of test screening. I\'ll take that as a sign Bay never did them. I was expecting to read that Knight felt scenes didn\'t look as great as he wanted oranor errors happened that have just been found during editing. Seems like knight cares more for his work better than Bay though.

Exactly. And judging from your last comment there we can all be assured that production went very smoothly. Like polishing Bumblebee’s rear bumper.
    In car mode. Yes.

    Probably said too much. *ducks*

What? The scene with Sam's parents in the credits of Transformers was the result of test screenings showing the audience wanted to see what happened to them. Bay incorporated that feedback and shot the scene. He discusses it extensively on the commentary.

Transformers 2007 had a test screening. The audiences' reaction was 99% positive in all age groups - it was an unprecedented reaction, the likes of were never seen by Paramount execs before.

That's the one Bay Transformers test screening, I remember reading about, way back when.
