Looks interesting and i have read the novel
Looks very promising. Just wish they hadn't cast DeFoe in it - I can't stand that guy, and he's only a major character in the movie. Oh well. Also seen better Thark designs, but it's far from the worst. Other than that, I'm all for it.
WHAT THE--- My body is a cage!? that song is awesome!
Ok, I'll watch it just because of that song.
Looks way too bland, especially if you compare it with the illustrations that Frank Frazetta has done for this series.
I Would not Believe The John Carter Book and the Movie are over 100 years apart.
I just started reading the original novel. I always wanted to, but never got around to it till now. Mostly because I saw the trailer and thouht it was probably about time to read the original story before Disney mucks it up.
That's pretty much my biggest beef with this movie. This just shouldn't be a Disney film.
I can't wait to see this movie. I'm already about 1/4 of the way into the book and I think it holds up better than a lot of books I've read from the same time period or older.
First There was Tarzan and now This? Oh Edgar Rice Burroughs, where would the world be without your amazing fiction?
This movie went from "that trailer with my body is a cage" to "most-waited movie of the year except TDKR and avengers".
I came back from it a few hours ago. It's amazing. I hope they will make a sequel, but not by Disney this time
Why not Disney?
because I want to see Deja Thoris's boobs and ass
I think I'll go see it this wednesday.
Soooo.... it goes from the 1800s to mars?
So why does he have a Batman symbol on?
I know it is supposed to be on Mars. Frankly it looks really stupid because we know Mars doesn't have Oxygen that he could breath. Might have worked 100 years ago when they didn't know better. They should have just set it on some other planet.
Yes! Just as they're reeling you in , they flip the script on ya! Saw it last night, it actually wasn't that bad. There were a couple of things such as the aforementioned "breathing on mars" issue that were kinda kooky. Really wished they would've rounded out the ending though, felt kind of rushed and unfinished.
I saw it just now....and its good, I dont take it thst serious...as far as breathing on Mars...Star Wars anyone? Luke just hop planet to planet without any issue?
Mark Strong is Sinestro...
Every movie in the universe owes this book...a little too long....7.1/10
Well hell, it IS science fiction. I think they're allowed to fudge some aspects. lol
I've been reading the Dynamite comic version. Not sure how close it is to the original book. But they explain theres a system that creates oxygen for all life on Mars. Setting the story on another planet, would be like making Batman Begins take place in Los Angeles. The planet is one of the main parts of the story.
