Maybe they hope he'll be too busy at his new job to damage marvel continuity any further.

Was hoping for a new EIC when I read the headline earlier, but no such luck.

Nothing against the dude personally, but the future for American funny books isn't going to be good if the big two don't get some proactive management that have a plan beyond flogging more of the same old shit to the same old audience.

Good on him! Other than the Spider-Man cluster fuck I'm actually enjoying characters I've found boring since the 80's.

So instead of just sittin' around and readin' comics all day; he's gotta watch cartoons and check out action figures too?

Where will he find the time?

And my Marvel ban continues with no end in sight. You know the comics industry is in a sad state when the man who decided that it is preferable for their flagship character (and one of the most kid-friendly characters of all time) to literally make a deal with the devil than be a married man is promoted to Chief Creative Officer. Marvel is truly the "House of (Bad) Ideas."

That's called the Dilbert Principle, the idea that promoting the idiots keeps them from interfering with the product. Hopefully that's the case here.

This is why I gave up on anything not Marvel Adventures-related a long time ago.

I'd be inclined to agree if this was still the Quesada of 5 - 10 years ago. Then again, maybe it was more Bill Jemas that was making the good stuff happen back then and Jimmy Palmiotti before that with Marvel Knights.

Either way, dudes will probably be hating on him forever for OMD and so on without at least giving him credit for getting the good stuff out there and for cleaning up the trainwreck he inherited from the bankruptcy era.

I think that the bit you found actually means he's just going to draw big round mouse ears onto everybody.

I just know I didn't give a flying f about Thor, the Avengers, Captain America and the X-Men had been on a steady decline since, well... Clarmont's final issue of the new X-Men series?

People are always gonna hate but I credit him as the reason Marvel's character roster isn't owned by DC right from a liquidation sale.
