Marvel announced a new Spidey title today debuting November with story by Zeb Wells and art by Madureira

Personally I wish Marvel got a better writer to pair with Joe Mad, but I'm looking forward to seeing Joe's work on Spidey! Now here's hoping he can put together a run longer than 8-12 issues :p

I'm not a big fan of Mad.... Just personal tastes. I don't like everyone having Shaquille sized feet and heads the size of basketballs...

Wow. Joe back on a monthly gig? This is the first time in what, a hundred years or so?

While I'm pretty much of a "meh" disposition about Spider-Man... Joe Mad back on a monthly gig? Hll must've frozen over!

Never heard of Wells or read any of his stuff... Can anyone give a recommendation?

I've never heard of him either, so I did a quick search. Looks like he wrote some Robot Chicken stuff along with quite a few Marvel titles already under his belt. None that I've actually read before, though. But that's not saying much since the only Marvel book I've got on my pull list right now is New Avengers.

My fav Zeb book is Runaways/Young Avengers: Civil War.

SUPER pumped for Joe Mad art. I bought that that shitty Ultimates book just for his art.

For an idea of how Joe Mad does Spidey, he did Uncanny X-Men 346 featuring Spidey waayy back during the late 90s. After seeing that I kept wishing he'd get assigned to Spidey, especially after he said he was a huge Spidey fan. There were rumors he was going to get a Spidey project but then he left Marvel for Cliffhanger, and then disappeared from the comics scene for a few years. Been a long wait, but it looks like it's going to be worth it.

Oh yes it was, it was sad to see him leave, but his work on Battlechasers was even better. I really hated it when he cancelled it to work on video games.

The problem is on most series he doesn't last past 6 issues, and the last few are usually late.

Exactly. It's sad that he can't do a long run. It's the same with J Campbell. I remember Wildsiderz got cancelled even before the first arc finished. He was supposed to get a Spidey project as well with Loeb, and until now we haven't heard anything.

Nah he was on Ultimates vol. 3 a few years back, that iirc, was his return to comics after letting Battle Chasers lapse and dwelving into harcore video gaming. I didn't read much of Ultimates vol 3 since Jeph Loeb was writing it and I hated the direction it was going, so I'm not sure if Joe Mad stuck with it through vol. 4. I hope this time around, he inks his work, he let his colorist color over his pencils last time, and it came off looking muddy. Bold ink would've been better imho.

Madureira only did Ultimates 3 #1-5, but that's the entire mini-series. I remembered there were some delays on it.

If he had tightened up those pencils it would have made such a difference. I'm a huge Joe Mad fan so this is exciting to me. :D

I still have that issue in my crates of comics.

While I'm excited that Joe Mad is back on Marvel, his Ultimates run was seriously underwheming. His Uncanny X-men run was brilliant, even if it did introduce us to 'Maggot'.

Also, His AoA stuff was far and away the best art on that event.

IGN's got some teaser stuff up from Avenging Spider-man. The promo image and the sample pencils are pretty awesome so far (his Spider-Woman makes me happy). Let's hope he can keep it up.

Tim Townsend totally needs to enter the ring and laydown some serious inks for Joe again.
