Yeah, unfortunetly it is true that they are only currently producing them for small events in Japan. I do hope that they either start mass producing them and selling them, or they sell the mold to Hasbro so that they can then mass produce him and put him in with the other Classics/Universe figures.
Just don't put candy under my nose and say I can't have it. It's enough that Hasbro does it all the time with botcon exclusives
I'd rather the Jizaitoys, designer, would get the money that these figures are getting on E-bay, then just a random seller. Then maybe he could produce more and/or get permission to release them. He is working on an Octane, triplechanger, and Powerglide figures, now Cyclonus went for $390.00 and Wheelie for $260.00, on E-bay. There was also a Diorama display of the Cyclonus and Wheelie figures, at Botcon. I can't believe they didn't win. At least Hasbro had the opportunity to see them. I just noticed the black on the figure above. Was this on it from Jizaitoys or did the owner add it?
I got one, at least the one from ebay, its a brilliant piece of engineering, but its a piece of crap, all the joints are loose and he can barely stand up on his own
He doesn't want to be sued. He' also makes them himself so it probably takes him a long time to mass produce them. Your best bet is to contact hasboro and tell them to hire him this is the type of figure you want.
Oh and the production version of cyclonus didn't have any black, only his original did, just like the production version of wheelie didn't have a gray canopy
If I'm not mistaken, the joints are gundam like. If it's only a loose joints issue, there are ways to solve that matter. You got yourself a great piece..still paid alot for it but if you can afford, you got it!
Why doesn't HASBRO just go out and work a deal with this guy like they did with the Ban Y J who made STIKFAS (and then the spinoff XEVOZ)? From STIKFAS WebSite: "From 2002 to 2004, STIKFAS™ was licensed to international toy giant Hasbro® Inc and this move saw a significant increase in its product range, distribution network as well as market recognition." I would personally LOVE to see this guy make figures for Hasbro and Takara/Tomy.
The guy has the set-up to mould about 20 pieces of each if not more. He has about everything it takes to mass produce. How about the KO makers, they could do it? But then the price would sky rocket...
Like I said, it looks awesome. The joints are in fact recast Gundam joints (the gray rubber plastic things *usually tree PC). The molding is very good though, a lot of detail. It's just the tolerances are off.
The price would skyrocket from what? $70.00 or $200.00 or more. The KO toymakers usually sell for less than an origonal because they use cheaper plastic and they are copying a figure, not designing it and working out the bugs. If they use quality plastic, it would be around the price of a regular deluxe $9.99. Maybe the company, JustIToys, could do it. They are making trailers (MP Prime)and gun accessories (MP Megs) of decent plastic but then, they, might charge too much.
