Just a thought about Jetfire. He is found in a museum. They filmed some of the movie in Egypt. Maybe Starscream felt threaten by Jetfire and he mummified him.

How on Earth would you "mummify" a non-organic creature...?

Non-organic things can freeze, well, everything can freeze. When he crash landed on Earth, the heat from his landing melted the ice around him. He was weakened, and the Earths magnetic field messed with him a bit (the reason he crash landed so far away from the cube). When his body cooled down the water around him froze again, thus trapping him in the arctic. At least that makes sense to me, not sure about everyone else.

As for mummifying a robot, not sure how that could happen. The more probable thing is that he was put into a stasis lock, or something similar. Basically a robot's version of a coma.

I think you start by repeatedly jamming a long pointy object into its scent receptors, then swirling it around a bit, before using a long spoony object to scoop out whatever it is you just broke up.

The scene in egypt... might be related, with the scene in season 1, where jetfire, rejoined the autobot, to help villagers in peru with the crystal...any of you remember?

maybe it was easier to "recreate" a similar scene in egypt...

    I'm having fun with thesis

I'm going with the idea of it being a nudge to geewuner's when skyfire was found by the cons, then joins the bots for the final battles.

***Maybe a slight spoiler, but this is just my guessing ( didn't read plots, don't worry!)***

I still think Jetfire is 'just' an earth-created Transformer. I think he's actually meant to be the real SR-71 Blackbird found in the Smithsonian, probably brought to life by an Allspark fragment (splinter?)..if he really is geriatric, I doubt this is because of millions of years of age, but rather being an old, decommissioned airplane which was somehow tranferred over into his robot mode.

That could also explain the biplane scout toy, it might be another plane from the same museum.

Freezing has to do with the molecules of an object slowing down. When metal freezes it contracts therefore disabling his joints.

Hmmm...that makes a lot of sense. I can see that actually happening in the movie. During that part of the filming Sam is supposed to touch part of the SR71 with something (most likely the fragment), so it's definitely possible. We won't truly know till we see the movie, or get Jetfire's bio, or something like that. Then we'll know, and knowing is half the battle.

    Yep :thumbs2:

Also, IMO, you COULD mummify a robot. Mummification is done by removing all major internal organs and applying preservation chemicals and material to the rest of the body. So Technically they COULD do it to a robot, weather or not I want to see it done in a Transformers is a different story.

In the case of Transformers or any other advanced robot, I doubt it counts as mummification as robots' organs are 'simply' machinery that are just as replacable as destroyed limbs, etc.

Also, Transformers have shown to be very durable and probably don't deteriorate like terran materials, so there would be no real use to 'preserve' other than means such as going into a stasis-nap or full cryo-stasis.

I think if they mummified jetfire it would not only be pure stupidity but a waste of what could be a very good character. and in response to digilaut i honestly really liked the idea about jetfires origin except for the fact that all earth born transformers seem to be senseless animals. like the nokia was crazy. and the mountain dew machine xbox 360 and car wheel all tried to kill people.
