I'm debating between Voyager Classic Jetfire and TakaraTomy Classics C-06 Jetfire. Anyone have any preference between the two? The latter is cheaper but I know more about the Voyager Classic. I just want one, so any consensus as to which is the better one to own???

I'm assuming you're talking about Classics Jetfire and Henkei Skyfire, I prefer the Classics Version, to me he just looks better.

Sorry, yeah Henkei Jetfire was the other one. Sorry I'm just going off what I see from BBTS and Amazon and didn't notice the Henkei part originally (listed as TakaraTomy on Amazon). I was leaning toward the Universe Classics Jetfire despite the higher price but wanted a quick survey of opinions so I didn't end up burning cash on the wrong figure.

I had Classics Jetfire, but sold him off a while back. I now have Henkei Skyfire. They both have their good and bad qualities. I prefer the more cartoon accurate paint job of the Henkei version. The new cockpit paint looks way better. I don't like the blue in front of his face, or the chrome on his thrusters. For me, it was a toss-up. The cheaper price of the Takara version is what sold me on it ultimately.

The Hasbro version looks cooler. The modern look is more appealing The chrome on Henkei Skyfire looks wierd. Henkei is G1 cartoon accurate though, if that is what you are going for. You should look at the picture galleries before making your final decision.

ive seen this thread many times before and a lot of people like the classics one for some reason.. i guess its got more red than white, and looks a bit more colorful, but i prefer the henkei jetfire (skyfire) for cartoon accuracy, and i personally dont find it plain at all..same thing goes for classics/henkei ramjet...although on that fig, i personally find the classics paint job weird, and not just colorfful.. but thats just my opinion...if u like either one, just get the cheaper one, which is surely the classics one... if u like one better, get that :D

I prefer Classics Jetfire myself. That deco is how he appeared in the IDW comics, and it's an excellent compromise between his G1 cartoon self and his G1 toy. The Henkei version, while admirable in trying to push the deco closer to the cartoon version, kinda misses the whole spirit of this Jetfire, which is to be a fusion of all his incarnations. That, and the chrome (What is it with Henkei and Takar's insistence that some part of EVERY toy MUST be chromed? Even where there's no good reason for it?)

But then, I got him right off, before Henkei was even a concept an there WAS no other choice, and when you could get Jetfire at decent retail prices.

Even so, I still woulda gone with Classics.

Out of curiousity, exactly how much cheaper would Henkei be over Classics?

Because I just bought Classics Jetfire on eBay for $32 including shipping. Did I just manage to luck out?

You got a better deal than me! I've seen Henkei Jetfire for $39.99 but without scouring eBay. Classics Jetfire was in the 50s or 60s but I skipped eBay to pick it up immediately out of impatience (and a fear I'd get left in the lurch by a last second bidder again, like what happened last night with a Collection Prowl I could've had for $33 until someone outbid me with less than thirty seconds and I didn't even know about it because I thought I had it in the bag....arrrgh). Oh well.

I've ended up purchasing Classics Jetfire, obviously. From the pics I've seen of it plus some of the reviews here, I went with that one.

Funny story, I was outbid Sunday afternoon on a Classics Grimlock at the last few seconds. And out of frustration over losing that, bid on the Jetfire with a few minutes left. And won.

I love my Henkei Skyfire. I like the painted logo on his chest and the smaller looking cockpit window. I also prefer the red visor in his helmet and the clear missiles. I like chrome so that never bothers me. His light piping eyes seem to work really well too. There's been times where the lights in front of him and it still makes his eyes glow. Way cool. He's a great mold whichever one you choose to get.

In the end you've gotta get what you personally like best.
