Does anyone know if the blackbird from that became Jetfire is still at the smithsonian? I took a feild trip with a few friends to washington last year and i was so happy to go and finaly see that blackbird that became jetfire, and to my disapointment, we looked all over the place and coudnt find it! Did they take it down?
I swear if he is still there it's like a big middle finger to me, I looked all over the maps and couldn't for the life of me find it!
Im not sure about a blackbird there or not... Should have asked. The outside of the museum in ROTF was NOT the Smithsonian. The 2nd night at the museum film was filmed in the Smithsonian. Hmmmm....
Yes well i assumed that all the planes would have been on the maps that are all over the place, and didnt find it.
ROTF was filmed at, and the Blackbird is still at, the Udvar-Hazy annex near the airport in Dulles. This is an entirely seperate location from the main Air and Space museum on the Mall. You need to take a shuttle from Air and Space, or drive out there. Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum - Transformers Wiki
they filmed that scene in Chantilly, Virginia at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yeah, it looks like this is where all the geographical discontinuities and anomalies begin to rear their ugly heads.
I saw a Blackbird when I went to the Intrepid in New York. I pretended it was Jetfire's brother or something.
Apparently that plane on the Intrepid isn't actually an SR-71 Blackbird, but an A-12 - a precursor to the SR-71.
I went there in 09 they had the blackbird plus props from rotf in a glass case including 3 different versions of jetfire's toy, the allspark shard and wheelies leg the IMAX theater was showing rotf I loved it there I'll go back any day
SR-71 "Blackbird" is definitely one of the most beautiful machines ever made... Just becaue this thread needs a pic:
