I think this is what they're going for, that's the present speculation anyway.

Well, also the SR-71 is still the fastest production military jet... and I believe that, barring classified prototypes, nothing with a jet engine has beaten it's speed an altitude records.

The SR-71 was designed for one purpose, and one purpose only: Go FAST. Fast enough and high that Soviet rockets couldn't catch it.

The reason it was retired was because the job it was doing can now be done better and more cheaply by spy satellites, and with zero risk to a living pilot should whoever you're spying on have a trick or two you don't know about, nor any chance of provoking an incident by violating their airspace.

One of Jetfire's hallmarks has always been that he's supposed to be the fastest flyer around, faster than Starscream. At least according to how I remember his bio. If you're looking for an aircraft that can make an F-22 Raptor look like it's standing still at full burn, this is pretty much your only option.

 

I'm not saying this is the case here but there has been tons of fan art that was just passed on during movie one for just fan art, when in fact they were drawings that were spot on the movie designs. Same thing applies here i'm thinking and some of these will be closer than we thing to their on screen counter parts. These guys MIGHT have movie bots material and they draw based on it so they can't be sued or such. Someone did the same for Batman Begins on the batsuit and Scarecrow and also for TF1 as we now know. Just saying!

Because it's just a packaging mock-up. There's a couple other boxes that where shown with Bumblebee's mugshot on it.
So don't worry, final packaging will have te right heads.

 

Temporary box just like there isn't a toy in the box but only a pixelated cutout of the keychain.
