Personally, with the ways things have been going lately, I will just assume that they are Japan only until I see something from Hasbro.

It's pretty likely that we would find out if Hasbro is bringing them out waaay before pre-orders for the Takara versions are fulfilled. No reason you can't pre-order them and cancel if you don't end up wanting them later.

Botcon next week. I'm sure we'll get answers.

Also the entire line will be canceled. :p

I cant see these being an exclusive seeing that there both pretty major players in the toon. I think Hasbros drooling to get these figures out to us.

Robotkingdom's pre-order pages list jet vehicon as 'japan mold only - usa non release'.
Gaia unicron has no such tag.

The jet is the Arms Micron version, which will be Nihongo dake (Japanese only, if I remember high school correctly). Same with all the other Arms Micron stuff.

Over here we'll probably get ones with less ports glued onto them and devoid of a minicon.

That's bad reasoning. Jet Vehicon was the only one that was posted as "Japan only". The logic of the ports should extend to all the molds but the Jet Vehicons were specifically mentioned.

That said, we do not know how accurate Robotkingdom's description is and where and how they got the information about it being Japan-only. If it's just a heavy remold of the car vehicons I can see US retailers saying "we already released that" with the RID Vehicon or "who's going to buy a flying car". For all we know we'll get the mold but in a different color.

For the price that Unicron is going for and his relative un-importance as a toy/bushy thorn in the carton I can see US retailaters passing up on this also.

I'd say 50/50 right now until we get more information from Botcon. Even if Botcon shows that Hasbro plans to release them take it with a grain of salt because it can still be end-of-lined.

    the US is borked.

take DOTM vortex...exclusive and released first in the Japan market.

I would say since hasbro has made no effort in naming new releases for transformers prime....we are screwed.

I have a bad feeling that it's a good idea to do this.

well look at this way....takara is not using the Hasbro accessories....and they are having to create basically 5mm mechtech ports or "minicon" ports on each figure for the line.....is it really cost effective to make 2 versions of each mold....one with the ports on it and one without the ports for USA issuance?

that is pretty stupid cost wise if you ask me....and hasbro has said bumpkis about issuing the arms micron minicons over here....

There shouldn't be any obstacles this time around that would prevent them from coming stateside, seeing as these are characters to a series currently airing. I'm so looking forward to these figures, especially Unicron. The Prime rendition of Unicron has become my favorite incarnation of his character and it would truly be a shame if the US (and other non-Asian territories) got the shaft on these.

Okay. So I guess we haven't gotten Optimus Prime, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee, Ratchet and Soundwave if that's true.

BBTS has pre-orders up for those takara characters...it is just strange that they are willing to make two different molds for each character....this is the first time that i can recall where one markets toys vary so differently accessories and weapons wise from the US retail market...

just does not seem cost effective to make two molds for each toy created...

Is there some confirmation somewhere that the micron warts are part of the mold and not glued on or something?
