I saw an advert the other day shilling that this was going to be his last kung fu film.

Does that mean he's quitting acting or that he is going to make a load of films that nobody will watch for about for a year before changing his mind and making another one?

Ive had this on DVD for about 2 months now.
I really enjoyed it. Watched Fist of Legend right after it since fearless is suppose to be a kind of prequel.

He made a distinction a while back. He won't make "traditional" kung fu flicks but he will still consider "action" movies. Think of watered down flicks like Unleashed.

Kind of. Jet Li plays Fok Yun Gap in Fearless, and in Fist of Legend, he plays a supposed student Chen Jen (made famous by Bruce Lee in Fists of Fury/Chinese Connection.) :)

My opinion is that Fearless was good but it's not on par with Once Upon a Time In China 2 or Fist of Legend. He's older now and can't pull off the same speedy movements that he used to. :(

Unleashed was pretty solid for what it was. Some great, brutal fighting that was very different from the usual, almost-balletic movements of Jet in other movies.

And I too have a DVD of Fearless. Not my fave, but definitely worth seeing for any martial arts fan.

Yeah, I agree with you. Among all the Jet Lee flicks, my fave is Once a Upon in China 2...especially the final fight with the "government officer" played by Donnie Yan.

In terms of story-telling and pacing, part 1 is better but part 2 has more action.

Some trival facts on "Fearless", some of the scene were cut such as a fight between Jet Lee's character anda Thai kick-boxer.

I don't know dude...because Tony Jaa seems to have less charisma or appeal that Jet has. I guess we have to wait and see Tony's progress over the next few years.

That's cuz Huang Fei Hong is TEH BEST!!!:rock
I didn't really like Fist of Legend because I felt that Jet Li didn't fit the role of Chen Jen... Donnie Yen's tv series adaptation of Fists of Fury though??? AWESOME... Donnie Yen's Chen Jen was on par with Bruce Lee IMO...

Just did a search on Wikipedia and found this:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huo_Yuanjia

Just a little history about the main character of the movie...

I'm wondering though, is his school, Jing Wu Men, still in Shanghai, because if it is, I am SOOO going there the next time I visit...

I think Tony Jaa has more raw martial and athletic movie talent. He only has two movies out but man the stuff he can do is breathtaking.

It's kind of like watching Bruce Lee, Donnie Yen, Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, and Sammo Hung stuff when they were in their prime.

I highly respect Huo's actions, but this last bit of info just demonstrated to me how much of a tragic hero he is. In a way, his prior victories were for naught since dining with the enemy IMHO is a big NONO. And accepting medical help is just a deathwish... :banghead:

Anyways, I'll still see the movie on Chinese DVD (if it's already out ).
