The amount of blacks in the game is down, but the amount of hispanic, dominican, etc. etc. amounts is up.

    Hmmmmm.

Notice he's not crying about how few white people are in the NBA, etc...

I think these two quotes perfectly illustrate the different attitudes. The Braves (and MLB as a whole, I'm guessing) think that talent should lead them somewhere. In other words, it's the player's responsibility to be good enough to get noticed. Rainbow-PUSH thinks that the Braves are responsible for finding "talented [black] players."

The Braves should have just refused to see them. Representatives from Rainbow-PUSH have no more business receiving a private meeting with a MLB team than I do.

I'm going to request a meeting with the Rockies, in protest of the fact that they don't have enough people on their team named Steve "Jux" Taylor.

If they focused locally, they would have no problem filling this demographic.

I wanna be a reverend. It looks easy enough. I already run my mouth constantly about asinine crap, love to get paid for it.

This is stupid. This isn't a very useful subject to go after for the Rainbow Coalition. It's a damn sports team - they'll have different minorities at different times.

Argh. There used to be a time where I'd pay attention if Jesse Jackson was in the news. Now...not so much.

Jesse Jackson wants so badly to be considered the second coming of MLK Jr. It's gross how he runs around slapping his name on any issue he finds racially motivated. What he doesn't realize is what made MLK such a great man - HIS ABILITY TO INSPIRE PEOPLE!!! All JJ does is point fingers, while MLK inspired people to look beyond the color of people's skin.

Odd I don't see him bitching about how few white players there are in the NBA or NFL. Hmm, this smells like bullshit pandering to me.

I was just about to say, didn't someone make the claim, starting your own church is the quickest way to make money.

I thought people where upset that the Braves co-op Native American culture. I’m so confused.
