Girl Gets Bizarre Surprise Instead of iPod

A little girl thought she was getting an iPod for Christmas but ended up getting a rude surprise. She got the box but when she opened it up, she found a surprising switch: the iPod had been replaced with a bizarre note.

The note reads in part "Reclaim your mind from the media shackles."

Jay Ellis, the girls father, returned the ipod to the Germantown, Md. Wal-Mart store where he purchased it. The store manger told him that another customer returned an iPod with a similar issue.

MyFoxDC attempted to reach Apple for a comment, but got no response

What's sad is these "free thinkers" who believe they're somehow doing good always end up making everyone mad by jerking them around and make things worse.

I don't think the little girl appreciates the letter. I'd consider it a challenge. Go to the nearest Apple store, see what I can find, then try and figure out who made the letter.

I know I'd never find out, but still, it'd give me something to do.

    Then again I'm weird.

Hmm...I'll say that's very weird, poor girl. Apparently the person who wrote (typed?) the letter seems pretty anti-technology or is tired of the kids rushing off to buy iPods and that. Nevertheless it is pretty strange :/

I dunno which I'd prefer for my hypothetical daughter - this, or the one that found porn and cussin' preloaded on her mp3 player.

That reminds me of the time when my younger cousin came around and unintentionally stuffed up the sound on the computer (funnily enough my aunt said that he knew what he was doing) after plugging in his mp3, once he took it out we also found porn games installed onto our computer. The computer was fixed up but the sound's still a bit screwy. :/

Um, putting it in an iPod box is kind of like replacing the pages in a book with this shit.

Targetting shit music with these notes would be much more appropriate, not the means with which to play it.

The answer is pretty simple really. The note obviously; just a piece of paper, you can just go back to the store and get a proper iPod. An iPod loaded with pornography...well, human mind doesn't exactly have a delete button on it, you're gonna end up with one traumatized girl.

Well, she got it for Chrisatmas present, didn't she? Apparently someone had returned their iPod to the Wal*Mart and no one bothered to empty it from it's contents before reselling it so this 10-year old was assaulted with sights and sounds that made her cry...

She'll get over it, the world isn't sunshine and lollypops.

Edit: It's not like she found a severed hand in there.

Reminds me of Dinorider videos in Australia many, many years ago... kept getting exposes on tv of people plunking their kids in front of the DR videos they'd bought, and at the end of the episode, it would go static for a few seconds, and then straight into the hardcore porn that was on the tapes prior to them being reclaimed for Dinoriders ;)

Extremists sure can be dense sometimes.

    1. I like the implication that people who listen to MP3 players don't ever read books.
    2. An MP3 player is a tool that can just as easily be used for knowledge as a book.
    3. The writing, manufacture, distribution, and sale of books feed the capitalistic machine too, genius.

The girl's confusion is understandable, but I'd be more pissed at the fact I spent that money for a crabby piece of paper.

It is amazing how people can get righteous over something as simple as a music player. There's some yahoo out there that thinks he's "saving" people with these notes.
