Just to finally post in here, I think out of any Autobot in the trilogy, Jazz got the crappiest time to die. I mean, he dies in the first movie all because he was likable, that's some garbage to me and I really want to know why he can't come back. It's been two movies, with a fourth one announced, someone explain to me why Bay can't resurrect him?

Jazz died to bring a bit more emotion to the end of the film. It is a war and not everything is going to be OK in the end.

When characters die, they die. That's how it is in real life and that's how it is in Transformers these days (except for Optimus and Megatron).

But, that's ridiculous to me that he and several Decepticons died, but, Optimus and Megatron die and they comeback by next movie.

I guess to just show that the good guys don't always pull through. See Ironhide, Jetfire, Arcee, and plenty others in the comics. It's a common tactic in fiction to kill likable/nice characters and good guys to shock the audience, and show that war has consequences.

And it's canon that Jazz was buried at sea in a comic in-between the films, so he's dead, Jim.

The main characters can come back because they are the main characters. Anyone else stays dead. Also, If they resurrect too any people, it will cheapen death and make killing them pointless.

Maybe because Bay made a decision that he didn't want Jazz to be brought back from the dead? Optimus and Megatron, sure, because they are the grand daddies of the factions and their presence served a more prominent purpose in the films. Jazz? Not so much.

Oh, and he doesn't die because he's likeable. He dies because he goes up against Megatron and Megatron rips him to bits. That and they wanted an Autobot casualty. If it wasn't Jazz, it would've been Ratchet. Would you then be complaining that Ratchet got the crappiest time to die? If it wasn't Ratchet, it would've been Ironhide. Would you then be complaining that Ironhide got the crappiest time to die? We've all seen how that turns out.

Is every decision a director makes going to be scrutinized like this forever? WHY COULDN'T FAVREAU REVIVE STANE?!?! WHY COULDN'T MARSHALL BRING DAVY JONES BACK IN PIRATES 4?!?! WHY DIDN'T THEY GIVE KEVIN BACON A CAMEO IN THE NEW FOOTLOOSE?!?!?

Since there's basically two groups on this topic...

1.) That was Grindor. Different character, different alt mode.
2.) It was Blackout in RotF.

I'm going to assume you're in the second group. So, okay, Blackout was brought back... AS ZOMBIE CANNON FODDER WHO DIED FIVE MINUTES LATER.

Would we really want that fate for Jazz? Why not just let him rest in peace?

The only characters who were definitively brought back from the dead to serve a purpose other than "generic cannon fodder" were Optimus, Megatron and Sam. And those are for obvious reasons.

I never liked Jazz much anyway so I didn't really care for his death. Plus, he was the midget of the group and bad guys love to pick on the midgets.

so they should they name a new character after an old character?

the only con to come back was megatron and according to your flawed logic, blackout too, even though he didn't.
