Just received this email today. Thought it was interesting news.

The price of them will be about $110, making them the same price at the TRU versions in Canada. Little more than the $79.99 they are being offered for in the US.

It would be cool if instead of playing an updated G1 theme it plays "You can fight, Transfomahhhh."

So they are turning a piece of crap into an even worse piece of crap? hahahaha

If i wanted a movie Bumblebee(and i don't) it'd be the deluxe not that oversized thing.

Least they might make their classics Megatron better then ours.

I finally saw this figure in person while at TRU the other day. It's big - which is cool - but I was surprised how "short & fat" it was, not to mention that weird stubby right hand thing it has going on. I can see why people like it, but I personally think the Deluxe '08 version is still the best representation of the character in terms of overall look & proportion.

Better materials, three times the price, and a king's ransom to ship overseas.

sorry, I should have been more specific, the $110 is what I will be selling it at so that would actually be landed cost, not the Japanese retail. It may not be the best deal in the US but if you can go to my store or TRU and pick it up for the same price but one of them is die cast, well, what would you do?

Personally I don't think this is a great figure myslelf. I don't like the look of it and also thinks it is short and fat so to speak. Making it die cast would make this great looking in car mode IMO but the robot mode will still look like the robot mode it is now.

Can anyone seriously compare Ultimate Bumblebee to Binaltech or Masterpiece and keep a straight face?

That's not a bad mark-up at all. Thanks for the update. ^_^

I've got one already. He's okay. Not enough to import a "better" version IMHO.

That's what I thought. It almost makes it worth getting one, on the grounds that I can also use it as a self-defence weapon should I ever get burgled...

    Indeed, since it already does!

As for comparing it to the masterpiece line I don't think a bit of die-cast really makes that astronomical of a difference, and hey, MP Megs didn't even really end up having any die cast and the feet have only caused problems.

The batteries in his backpack weigh a ton, so the die cast in the legs and feet surely would help him with his balance. I keep mine in car mode most of the time cuz he likes to be uber-tipsy

Wow! This must be a heavy piece! Don't think I can display him on my glass cabinet if I were to buy him but considering the price, probably I'll give this a pass.

Yeah, I think that already happened. They're gonna release it again with diecast this time, instead of the Hasbro version.

They need to fix these things.

    1. Get rid of electronics that hampered the designs/interior possibility.
    2. Proper proportions and get rid of that right blaster hand.
    3. Clear plastic/windows. (read 1)
    4. Real interiors or else don't even bother comparing it to Binaltech.

From what I see, it's like, half way neither here nor there.

It's not fully a masterpiece, and not even a binaltech.

Totally in a class of it's own and if they don't fix the 4 issues I listed, it's not worth getting even at half the price.

I'll rather have a real binaltech/alternator scale bumble bee that is proportionate.

This figure only needs to be redesigned from ground up like an alternator and it would've sold better than the ultimate version.
