No, no, he must mean "Japanese original" in the sense that it's a colour scheme the Japanese came up with independently of the American one. In other words, similar to what we've seen with other Japanese TF releases.

    Ebay:
Welp going with the name Ironhide in Animated didn't seem to translate over to Prime. They kept the bulky bot's the name intact this time.

Erm... what? Yeah, we know Ironhide isn't in Prime... the show has only been running for like a year now.

In tf:animated Bulkhead was renamed Ironhide in japan. He was stating that this wasn't done with Prime Bulkhead

And as you guys can see... these are first addition toys of the Prime line... meaning, like I said, there will be multiple additions to these toys. This is why you see some of them like Cliffjumper and Bee having 2 different versions in the same class category.

Hmm. If Takara does their usual thing of putting more into the paint & finish, might have to hang on to the box on my Hasbro Voyager Prime for eBaying! Be interesting to see what the differences are tho, given that Hasbro is (IIRC) using metallic paint for theirs, at least. All the display photos from shows etc seen so far have looked very good (tho of course they could be handpainted).
