Don't forget the small Tsu that's used to create double consonants. Or, even better, use this tutorial I created a decade ago. That "someone" was Omni Productions, based out of Hong Kong.
In light of whats going on with terminology, I think the whole cause of it is b/c of the live movies.
Of course. But the movies are a new continuity, regardless. They don't affect the old shows. That's why when you get new toylines like the Choro-Q line a couple years ago, the figure based on the G1 cartoon is called Convoy, but the movie character in the same line is called Optimus Prime.
Yes. Every new continuity from the movies on forward uses the "American" (read: "real") names. Animated, Prime, Adventure, etc. No continuity prior to the movies is affected. TFP is a completely new continuity, unrelated to G1, and there is a completely new generation of kids watching the new shows. There's no reason for Takara not to use the real names anymore. These are globally-marketed properties now, thanks to the Paramount movies.
I know. Those movies affected things greatly. Thats why Takara needs to make the first move rather than stay behind America. Takara may have done some improvements to Legends figures such as Fortress Maximus and Weirdwolf. But I prefer them making an effort to make a new show with new gimmicks. I must comment that I did like how Takara "inserted" a new gimmick in Transformers Prime.
Arms up. Well, its better than nothing. And Takara did release War Breakdown, Smokescreen, Silas Breakdown, Jet Vehicon, and Gaia Unicron.
They did, recently. It was called Transformers Prime GO!. There was a cel-animation OVA and a couple of Japan-exclusive Autobot combiners, as well as an exclusive triple-changing Optimus Prime (robot/train/dragon).
We fans know of it. I liked it. It had the potential to be a great series. But sadly it didn't last. Only 6-10 episodes were made. Whats more is, its connected to Transformers Prime in which creates a debate on the Prime-Adventure connection in Japan.
Prime and adventure aren't connected in Japan. Optimus never died in Japan prime and bumblebee never got his voice back due to them never airing beast hunters. Adventure is it's own thing in Japan not connected to prime. Also I think go only lasted four episodes.
That I know. But so far in Adventure the one w/ Soundwave, Jack was mentioned. The Japan dub is almost following America's.
thats really weird then, didnt think they would still include references to prime like that. maybe its like the aligned continuity here, something like wfc/foc happened before prime. maybe in japan events similar to prime happened prior to adventure
No, it's still going here. The middle of season 2. I don't know if it's airing on regular tv, which I don't watch much of, but they put it on Hulu. What's annoying, though, is that they removed all of season one when they threw up season 2.
Transformers go! Only lasted four episodes and was a magazine release kind of thing, I never said adventure wasn't still airing
