A) About time! I've been dying for better pics of this thing, just so I can see it and so I can put something decent up to show the product being offered.

I like it very much but I am still on the fence because I already have Buster Optimus Prime and this one does not seem to be movie accurate especially with the black parts.

 

I agree with you 100%. For the price point, Takara could have made that figure an absolute MUST have for everyone who missed Buster Prime. It would have sold out everywhere if they gave it some premium paint TLC. But they didn't and look how easy it is to find one.

 

Im wanted buster, but for some reason I like this one better...I guess cuz it comes with more accessories? lol....IDK but who knows with this one being released, which one would be the best...do you guys think this one will be released stateside?

 

Yeh, I agree on that - I'd be very surprised if this didn't find it's way into the Masterpiece Movie subline, perhaps as a final offering - with the full-on paintjob & chrome, the fueltank gun... maybe extras like some new blades or axe that fit on the hands, or the battle hooks, or something like that.

Now if that happened, and they did further tweak it to add articulated hands, or including the open-face head too, that'd be quite nice thankyou. Go out with a bit of a bang.

It would be something "new" to supe up one of the MPM toys like that, with extras, more in keeping with the main MP line - but it's not beyond the realms of possibility, given that it's Prime, and in Takara's backyard he's like a licence to print money.

(Probly just end up being "MPM Final Battle Optimus" tho, and some dirt gets smeared on the chest panels, and cracks drawn on the windscreen   )

I think many here are unaware of how expensive toys in general cost in Japan—it sucks, and I'm not saying it’s right, just that that's the way it is. Toys are f'ing expensive over here.

Pretty Cure dolls (more like statues) my daughter wants only has 4 points of articulation, and it costs 1,300 yen on average! Cyberverse Transformers Hatchet costs the same amount, but is a better toy in every way.

If grandparents with bottomless pockets weren’t the ones who almost always buy toys for children in Japan, toys might be cheaper:/ Then again, Japan is a country of premium tastes, people here don’t care for cheap things. Uniqlo, which originally had nothing over 2,000 yen in their stores tried to give Japan an affordable alternative to clothes and society shunned it, likened to K-mart of the ‘80s. Uniqlo changed the price points, hired some designers and found success selling more expensive clothing—Uniqlo is now a trend setter in Japan.

 

I will be getting this for the parts but FAIL on takara's part as there is NO premium paint AND NO BUSTER GUNS! Look close they are the normal gas tanks from ROTF Prime. I think it was necessary to hold the other guns for stealth force mode.....

 

Based on the level of paint (virtually none), the lack of buster cannon/swords and that the gun/shield combo is probably smaller than Leader Bee's backpack/stealthforce mode accessory, I don't see any reason Hasbro couldn't release this mold early next year as a part of a follow up to the DOTM line.

 

Hasbro take note: this is how you sell additional optimus. Not with the same voyager optimus repaint
