http://blogs.abc.net.au/theshallowend/2008/05/point-break-seq.html Couple questions: 1. Why? 2. Why Jan de Bont? 3. Keanu supposedly has a "no sequel rule" (Bill & Ted and Matrix notwithstanding); It kept him out of Speed 2, and if he wouldn't do that... 4. Isn't Patrick Swayze, like, dying or something? 5. How can you do a sequel without the best character, Gary Busey's Angelo Pappas? I think if I think about this too much, my head will explode. Is anyone else as dumbfounded about this as I am?
Point Break is one of my favorite action flicks, but really doesn't need a sequel. What is there to do? Johnny Utah quit being a cop to be a surfer, and Swayze's character was smashed by an epic wave. Ugh.
1. Why? money money money mooooney.... moNAYYY, oh, and complete lack of originaltiy 2. Why Jan de Bont? Uwe Boll was busy 3. Keanu supposedly has a "no sequel rule" (Bill & Ted and Matrix notwithstanding); It kept him out of Speed 2, and if he wouldn't do that... he really should've kept that rule given how bad his sequels have been. but if he is in the sequel, will he be Utah or Falco????? 4. Isn't Patrick Swayze, like, dying or something? he got better 5. How can you do a sequel without the best character, Gary Busey's Angelo Pappas? Busey's too busy denying interviews with 12 year olds, bring back Lori Petty!
The hell? What used to be a funny joke is now getting RIDICULOUS. Do they just print off a list of every movie made in the last 50 years and then check off which ones they want to make sequels for?
Maybe this will be one of those sequels that has nothing to do with original(i.e. the Bring It On sequels). It could just be another movie about surfing bank robbers. I couldn't get the link to work so I don't know if the article says that this will be an actual sequel or not.
It's basically the plot of the first one, except instead of ex-football player turned cop learning to surf, it's military dude who can already surf. Awesome.
You might try to block them out but Keanu did the two crappy Matrix sequels as well. My opinion of this new Point Break is No Swayze, No Dice. This movie wil probably be as 'awsome' as the direct to video sequel for Wargames.
There's so many great lines in that flick. You're going to pay me to surf? /keanu The more I think of it, I should try and find Point Break on DVD.
