Capcom announced Devil May Cry 5.

But I'm not even sure the character they show is Dante.
Still, more Devil May Cry is a good thing to me.

    Dante is NOT an emo.

That is all. Good day to all of you.

    This. I think.

Not saying that this will work in all cases. But enough RAGE got Sucker Punch to change Cole back to his bald angry self for inFamous 2.

I'm torn on this. I'm all about giving a game a fair chance before reserving judgment after only watching a trailer. But not really excited about the direction this game is going in. Don't see a need to cover Teen Dante when there are so many questions lingering from DMC 2 and 4. DMC 3 worked as a prequel because it fleshed out Virgil and showed Dante awakening his Devil Trigger. So that means this game CAN'T have the staple DT ability, unless it's a reboot. In which case, ugh, fuck this game.

thats the point, there's no need for a reboot. dmc is great because of its tone and style. 4 kinda suffered through lack of Dante. even though they made his mechanics fuckawesome with the ability to switch styles on the fly and some seriously cool weapons, they showed Nero "mash B" upon us, comparatively bland to play as.

but to be honest, the true sequel to dmc came out a while ago, and it was called Bayonetta.

Definitely what he would be had he been a female. It would be awesome to have a cross over between those 2

The director of Bayonetta also directed DMC1 and created the franchise. Capcom then took his team off the series, and put a different team on DMC2 (which made an inferior game) and eventually fired the original directors team after they made Viewtiful Joe and Okami. He also was involved with the creation of the Resident Evil franchise, and worked on the first game.

THey went on to make Platinum Games, which made Bayonetta. The creator of the RE franchise also works for Platinum.

Capcom was stupid. These guys make A+ titles across the board. Now Capcom are having to farm out DMC to 3rd parties. Lawl.

Do you think you can upset the aura of the Universe and not play the price?

Maybe this game will have a 'coming of age' for Dante and he'll end up washing the black out of his hair or something.

I mean, he has his classic look in MvC 3.

    I don't know.
I don't like the look of the character, but it's only a minute of pre-rendered footage.

I'll give it a chance, but I would rather be like 'Hell yeah! Dante!' than 'I'll wait and see...'

This is unusual. Skinny, "chain-smoking," teenage boy, going around killing monsters and being referred to as Dante. Can't wait. :drunk

    THIS!

I'd rather have a Bayonetta 2 than a new DMC to be honest.

Yeah wake me up when they announce the sequel to Bayonetta.

Also I really hope they give DMC the GoW remix treatment, now that I would get exited over.

I enjoyed all the DMCs, so I will give this a chance. The thing I really like about the DMC series is how I always felt to be entirely in control of all the moves, unlike GoW and lots of other similar action titles where it becomes a little more context sensitive. However, I really don't see a need for a reboot, just more Dante.

Ugh. File this under "If they hadn't told me it was (insert name), I wouldn't have known." Weak.

Wow capcom......thought you were goign in the right direction with MvC3 and SSF4, but this? THIS? Dante would not approve!

Looks like 4 is the last good DMC til this one fails and they go back to the true Dante.

(actually liked 4 better then 3, and well of course better then 2)
