I can't see a battle between Cloverfield & Godzilla lasting longer than it takes to annoy Godzilla enough that he uses his firebreath on CFM. Fight over.

You got a point, but Godzilla uses his breath as almost a last resort. But still I'm just thinking outside the box here.

    My thoughts exactly.
The thing I liked the most about Cloverfield was that they didn't explain absolutely everything. Hell, they didn't really explain anything. It was bunch of terrified people in he middle of a very nasty situation, trying to stay alive through it. No massive bouts of unnecessary exposition getting in the way of the atmosphere. That's why I think it worked so damn well. If they do another one the temptation will be there to explain everything about the monster, or at least clarify its origin. And it honestly doesn't need that; such a movie, in my eyes, would be worse than pointless.

You really think those parasites would have an effect on Godzilla..I mean if they get on him they'll probably burn alive because well G is radioactive.

Okay back on topic whatever they do for the sequel I hope it goes well story wise.

Cloverfield was definetly a "movie" experience. The desire to know what the monster would look like was the thing everyone wanted to know about. Not knowing and not explaining what this monster is, is what adds to it's charm.

The ONLY thing I can see that could make this movie work as a sequel is to maybe do the cam corder thing again (less shaky cam) and have it focus on the CFM's mother. Maybe use viral marketing to talk about the aftermath on the first CFM's attack to promote it.
