Okay, so we all know that Skyquake's weapon is a huge overpowered gatling gun, and Dreadwing's weapon is a giant bomb cannon that can kill in one direct hit.

I think I might know what these weapons are called.

In Transformers: War for Cybertron, the Ion Blaster is a huge overpowered gatling gun, that the user holds the same as Skyquake holds his weapon. Also in War for Cybertron, the Nucleon Shock Cannon is a giant bomb cannon that can kill in one direct hit.

    So... yeah.

There was something here but I quickly realized it would ruin the point of the thread.

EDIT 2: And Knock Out mentioned a Nucleon Shock Cannon in Operation Bumblebee 1/2 whichever had the Solus Hammer.

Hmm, you know what else I've just noticed? I have my Depth Charge holding his fish gun underhand with both arms, and I've had it like this since way before Dreadwing/Skyquake even came about.

    Unintentional foreshadowing ftw!

I've been dying to use this since 'Triangulation' aired, but now is a good time to use it.

War for Cybertron CLEARLY wasn't connected to Prime. Dark Energon was manufactured, everyone was basically "G1", and the team called it a "G1 prequel"(even though it doesn't match up to any continuity).

Then Hasbro sticks them together with the same kindergarten paste they used to mash "Energon" and "Cybertron" together, in hopes of cross-promoting both. They claimed "IT WAS OUR PLAN ALL ALONG!", and people took it as Word of God. Now that they've painted themselves into this corner, Hasbro is mandating that FOC line up with Prime. That means we now have Prime Cliff's head on WFC Cliff's body, and a completely likable Bumblebee will become R2Bee2.

Part of FOC and any sequels have been effectively comprimised for Prime. And that sucks.

Pretty much this. The "Aligned Continuity" is total, utter bullshit, and no amount of official word from Hasbro will ever make me accept that connection. WfC and FoC will be forever G1 prequels in my book.

    Agreed, but...

These games don't fit in with G1 continuity either.

    Why Hasbro... Why...

Most of us were happy just having new continuities. We accepted this. It's been like this for ages... why must you try to mash everything together now? Don't be like Takara... not in this way...

You can point out the that X has said that they didn't make their story with Y (nor did they share notes with Y) and folks here will still say they are the same story--I'm pretty sure Matt has said several times that HMS' story is of their own creation. He noted that they borrowed a few designs with the Transformers Prime (ships and Cliffjumper's head), but that's about it; and Alex Irvine said that we may see some of the things he wrote about take shape in Transformers Prime, but even he didn't speak with a great deal of certainty.

WfC isn't connected to Prime but weapon similarities in FoC are actualy worthy paying attention to: High Moon said that some weapon designs in the game ARE based on in-show guns and what not,
