I calculate no less than SIX hardpoints! It was one of the first things I noticed! I'll take an H tank, though I feel it's a bit simplistic. Can't have enough Warpath! Ka-Blam!! PoW!!

Totally buying him, yay, now I'd like pictures of Arcee and the 12 or so upcoming retoolings of all those other classics figures.
I bet we get the bot mode pic tomorrow.

That's because Hasbro's designers are very talented, and a lot more experienced, and have set the bar very high for themselves. All that 80s stuff was pioneering efforts, but no one really expects it to measure up to the standards of today.

However there's nothing fundamentally dated about the actual concept of the original altmode. There's nothing that has to be changed to bring things more in line with our modern sensibilities. The only real reason I can see to change things to an H-tank is to solve their transformation problem. H-tanks generally make for lazy, obvious transformation schemes. 4 seperate treads become 4 seperate limbs. Yay.

Hasbro and Takara have brilliant people working for them and they're always going to do a great job of following through with things, even if they make(what I believe to be) the wrong choices.

Anyway, that pic's so tiny and blurry, it may not even be an H-tank.

Nice..your right. Even in WFC the turret would be backwards in the pic right?

See..I dunno, but with most of the bland dotm stuff I seen lately this really gets me excited. Warpath was one of my favs as a kid. I just LOVED the tank mode, AND how his torso was the turret...So bitchen.

Looks pretty straight forward..arms..legs..lower torso, turret with epic head reveal.

    this is most bitchin'

This is the mold used in the BiS comic. I recognize the rear under the turret as the shoulders that are pictured in the comic book.

And then you open the hatch and that was his head. That was such a cool transformation scheme. Hard to say why, but it's just so obviously cool you don't need a reason.

I liked how the newer legends figure had a retractable cannon so he doesn't knock everyone over when he turns around. That was an improvement.

I kinda agree to an extent. But I was pretty knowlegable with armor and guns as a kid. Planes too. I as a kid, and even today look at G1 warpath as a Sheridan Tank. I thought it was soo cool as a kid that the tank shot missiles thru the main gun, and conventional rounds. It, in real life was kind of a turd as a tank in general, but an updated deluxe Sheridan would be pretty sweet too. Look real good fightin Bludgeon.

I dont think just cause a transformer's alt mode is an old vehicle, dosent mean it would not be transformer tech. It could look like a model T and be the fastest in the world..

But thats just me. im a complete SUCKER for decent military theme transformers. The wfc cybertron design is great, I love the game and still play it. The ONE thing that is a drag, is the wfc Warpath had this real SWEET gun barrel that was shaped not round but angular..WOW...it looks so sweet in game. I dosent look like this will have that same look.

Since Hasbro has been doing such a great job in the Generations line I have to say, I'm sure the robot sculp will be very G1 inspired, and I'm looking forward to buying it. I would love to see more figures in the WFC line, but keep the G1 classics coming.
