Am I the only one hoping for an armada Megatron repaint?

 

Would have prefered a more traditional realistic tank-design, but no biggie.
I guess he is in cybertronian mode then. It's not like red is a realistic color for a tank anyway.
The way it looks in bot mode is the really important part

Probably, considering Armada Megatron never had a tank cannon for a chest.

 

I really liked Legends Warpath's overall design, so if he winds up anything like that in 'bot mode, but with the obvious new tricks available to a Deluxe, then I'm all for it. Would've preferred a more realistic tank mode, but I won't complain too much either. We've got enough of those.

 

Just realized what else he reminds me of. The turret is different, but the rest of the tank looks like the Scorpion from Halo. Looking forward to seeing the bot-mode. Hopefully more, and bigger, pictures get leaked in the near future. Maybe some Arcee and Starscream pics too.

 

I find this kinda weird as Hasbro has been turning cybertronian transformers (scourge, galvatron, kup), and even non-vehicle (perceptor) into earth type vehicles. And now we had an earth vehicle turning into a... not earth vehicle?

I call mistransformation on this!

 

Crud, now I'm gonna have to have frenzy_rumble do up a custom Scorpion Warpath for me once this is out...

lol, I was jokingly referencing the rage and fury over DotM Shockwave's tank mode.
 

 

Considering the fact that Hasbro has used this style of tank to represent Earth based alt-modes in the past, even if it's not entirely realistic, it's not at all surprising to see another one. Even less surprising when you take into account the fact that the last Warpath figure we got (the Universe Legends) was an "H-tank".

 

Why do I keep forgetting that warpath has a cannon sticking out of his chest?

Are there ANY other transformer tank (except Treads ofc) that have a tank cannon sticking out of his chest?

I would think Warpath keeps coming out as an H-tank because his iconic transformation doesn't leave much room for spontaneity. If you know in advance that the toy has to have the entire turret as its chest, that could be pretty limiting to the engineering.

 

Well that's the challenge they're up against. If they overcome it, I'll be impressed. If they take the easy way out, I'll not be.

I want to be surprised. I want them to set up the goal of converting X altmode into Z robot, and I want them to use all their ingenuity to get there. It's one of the main things I appreciate about transformers. It's always a disappointment when they just compromise one of the modes and call it a day. If it's a combiner, or a triple-changer, I'll cut them some slack, but this is stuff they're well practised at. They don't need us making excuses for them.
