Ugh...so totally had a nice long write up in here, and accidently hit back. So here's the short version:

Decided to throw these four all together instead of making for threads for these little mods.

    Ratchet:
Repainted all red into a deeper, less pink red, including the hips. Upper legs, forearms and helmet painted a matching white. Rear bumper and chest panel painted silver, lightbar and headlights painted clear red. Heads on a ball joint.

    Starscream:
Universe release with lots of little added paint apps so he wasn't so bland. The red and been completely repainted, filling in all the unpainted gaps and edges along the way. The launchers were disassemble and swapped with the silver parts of the original Classic release. Head is fully painted in a dark metallic not-quite-black grey. Faction symbols were removed and replaced with rightside up in robot mode Reprolabels, cos that's how I like them, accuracy be damned!

    Grapple:
Built him a gun out of a G1 Grapple missle and Universe Silverstreak shoulder launcher, handle is styrene. Stores securely under arms in vehicle mode.

    Wreck-Gar:
The US one was too brown for me, and the Japanese version too red and too...whatever that garish, creamy color is. So, figured I'd just add some red to the US one. I mixed a bright red, dull orange red and copper to get that earthy brownish red the Junkions had. I've painted his chest panel (wanted kind off an added on armor feel), neck piece, gas tank/right leg and wheel rims in the red. The yellow flames on the fuel tank were created by cutting out white decal paper to shape, painted them yellow and then applying them when the paint was dry (yeah, that actually worked! First time I tried something like that).

They all look great, especially Starscream and Wreck-Gar. Your paint apps look flawless; great work.

Your paint apps are incredible, virtually indistinguishable from the factory apps. What's your secret?

Haha, thanks! Umm, lets see, an airbrush, good quality/the right size hand brushes, and glossy or semi-gloss paints applied in multiple thin coats. Oh, and masking tape where necessary.

    You forgot "being awesome" :D

I enjoy your work so much, man. This thread really proves the reasons why. You're right - it's the little things. I enjoy so much how you do something like "an added on armor feel".

Props to you - one of my favorite artists here.

    Thanks man!

Thanks! I'm kinda booked on commissions right now...

Haha....I almost did remove that licence plate since I was going for a cartoon look. Everyone knows that the only "real" continuity anyway :lol
