I sold off some of the lesser items a few months ago, for living money for my family and I since my wife was a stay at home mom.
However, last week, she left me a filed for divorce. In order to pay part of my lawyers retainer, I had to sell the rest of it today. All told, I only got 1800 total for my collection. I had thought about keeping bits and pieces, but in order to have a chance of spending time with my daughter, and not being taken to the cleaners, it's all gone.
For those of you who live in the Nashville, TN area, the Great Escape in Madison recently got an influx of Transformers from G1 through ROTF. Lots of rare stuff and Japanese exclusives. I'll still hang around here from time to time, but I'm out.
For my daughter, it's worth it, but I will miss my TF's.

Look at it this way. When the dust settles and your at a good spot again you get the fun of trying to rebuild the collection again. That's the more adventurous part of collecting. I think this is why some sell their collections and start again. The thrill of the hunt.

Sorry man, but it was a wise move. I know when you look at your daughters face there's no regrets at all.

The good news is it was only toys. They'll always be around.
To help ease the pain you can make a peronal TF photo album.
A collection of pics to all the stuff you had. That way you can still show them off in a way :(

It helps a little, I did the same with Overlord & Deathsaurus before selling them.
Atleast now you can rebuy stuff in lots, instead of searching & buying it all one piece at a time.

Sorry to hear about it all, but am very proud of you for making the right move and know what really matters in life. TF's are plastic, but a daughters love can not be contained in any understandable value. Ill be praying for you bud.

I don't like it at all, but I'll bite my tongue, and it seems like you lost more that just a person with the title "Wife" and yet you're the Breadwinner. I don't like it.
BTW, what really matters is that you have time with your daughter.
