The movie is designed to be a new continuity, and I think it should be treated as such, much like the recent cartoon adaptations. A pure G1 based live action movie would have worked in the 80's if they'd had the special effects technology, but that boat has long sailed, so I say we give this new continuity a chance to reach the next generation. Remember, many of us thought the stuff 20 years before the original transformers was crapola, transformers just managed to reach us. Maybe its time to pass the torch to a new generation of fanboys.

I like the movie more than anything G1 ever offered.

I too wish people would be more willing to accept that this isn't, and shouldn't have to be, a perfect recreation of the G1 story as we all know it, and it's differences do not automatically make it pure shit. Unfortunately, daring to express such things just gets you flamed. NOT TROO ENUFF

This can be stated (and has) in any number of currant threads, I don’t think it needs it’s own.
