No, Starscream, it's not Bruticus..... It's Megatron...YOUR LEADER!!!

Oh man, this guy has been in the making since like, June, and he's finally done, hooray! The only thing I have left to do is animate this bad boy and render him out for part of my reel.

So without further ado, I give you a Generation 2-inspired movie-esque Megatron for your viewing pleasure!

Now if G2 Megs has the same color I may be tempted to get it. Great job on the rendering.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Unfortunately rendering takes a bit of time with the hardware I have (I'm sure there are some ways I could optimize the performance somehow), but I do plan on having a transform animation at some point in the future.

Overall I'm satisfied with it. I learned an awful lot of dos and don'ts, especially with regards to setting up the robot mode.

Cannon length is correctly proportional to the actual M1 Tank, as is the width and height. Any bigger, and he'll have zero articulation for his right shoulder on the z-axis rotation (extending his arm to the side that is).

There are still some things that bug me, but for all intents and purposes, modeling is finished. I've been working/experimenting on this guy since June/July. I may take another shot at him when my modeling and technical skills increase, but for now I'm taking a robot modeling hiatus and in turn am going to concentrate more on other things to bolster my online portfolio. Consequently, I have been working on a Lamborghini Countach LP500s since Friday of last week that has an exterior that's around 90% modeled (barring the inevitable revisions). Maybe someday you'll see Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Red Alert or Breakdown.
