I dont care what the forecasters say this is a heatwave if there ever was one. I'm still too broke to get an AC, and would get one with my next paycheck but by then summer will pretty much be over. How can it be 8 to 10 degrees hotter here than in LA? That makes no sense.

That sucks...Guess I'm just use to living with the heat all year long. No A/C though would kill me.

It isn't the heat that gets us its the mosquitoes that make the outside unbearable.

I have a fan with a 10 inch diameter. I might get a bigger fan or just break down and go for broke with an AC. If I weren't born in a hot place this would be that much worse, thankfully when I dont move and just sit and read things are fine. But trying to cook or play basketball is ASS!

This has been the best summer ever in Texas though, at least in the DFW area. Not a single day over 100 yet and last year we had 15 days over 100 in July alone.

Seriously. It sucks too because I work nights and sleep during the day and end up waking up in like a freakin' pool of sweat despite owning fans.

ugh I hate when it's hot.

Yeah, I agree with Nerdling, though I usually hate 90%+ humidity more than just high temps.

Humidity is what kills me. Whenever I visit my family in Puerto Rico, it takes me a while to get used to the humidity. For the first couple days I'm so exhausted from the temps that I sleep through the day.

I spent an August in Dallas and was surprised at how little the heat bothered me.

Thought the temperature reached at least 100 degrees each day, and a fair bit over 100 a few times, the lack of humidity made it quite comfortable.

Yeah that's what kills you. The dry heat isnt so bad, unless youre doing something physically exhausting in the sun. With humidity, you can sweat without doing anything and lose all your fluids in hours. And if you're underground in the dirty subway platforms the cramped mugginess coupled with the lack of air circulation = death. Add about 500,000 tourists to each block and its just ass. I might move back to Cali to avoid this whole mess next year.
