No one replaces the old man. However, if I were forced to pick someone to come along for the ride, it'd be Warpath.

 

People really like Warpath!

 

Because Michael Bay playing Warpath would be the most awesome shit ever put into screen.

 

Yes, he even gives several orders after Ironhide dies.

 

Hhmmmm i never really paid attention.

 

He gives several orders while Hide's alive too. And orders Ironhide himself in one instance iirc (Ironhide, down the middle!). Doesn't mean much imo. I take his orders more like "hey guys let's do this" (more even and comrade like) more than "Follow my command"

 

And Ratchet commands people around as well in a few stances ["Retreat!" in TF1, and "Target the Bridge!" in DOTM], yet no one is calling him the new second-in-command.

 

While I would rather have Ratchet focus on his actually being a medic so people will stop saying he's useless, I love this idea of Ratchet having to step things up as a second in command. I'm kind of sick of everyone immediately choosing Sideswipe as second in command when Crankcase kicked his ass and all he's managed to do is kill a fleeing coward.

The first was said by Jazz, the second was to humans, who he likely has authority over. Oh, and you got the second line wrong. /nerd.

 

Still, Sideswipe got owned by Crankcase. We must never forget that. Ever.

 

Well, duh. Ratchet would too. You must realize that Ironhide was the one who wiped the floor with him. IRONHIDE.

 

Sideswipe has yet to show he has any bite to back up his bark. His orders could just be his personality and him feeling like he's qualified to call the shots when he has yet to prove he is capable of doing so.

Ironhide took both dreads head on. Ratchet is of similiar size to Hide and is just as agile as Sideswipe and Ironhide are. Ratchet would only lose because the movie needed Ironhide to do something "important" before he died.

 

And Ratchet took on Brawl and survived. You must never forget that.

 

Ratchet simply isn't as tough as Ironhide, if he was, he'd be using brute force tactics rather than sharpshooting and standard soldier style firing.

You act as if I'm saying he can't do anything. Which I'm not.

 

How do you know Ratchet would get beat by Crankcase?
