Since it doesn't really matter to the plot if Starscream got his shots in or not, I would like to think he did. Even if Megs does somehow come back latter and knows Starscream shot him, I doubt it would be a first.
Starscream did take out Megatron (With a little help from the other F-22s), and Barricade does leave the battlefield when the Decepticons inter the city! But I have a couple of questions if somebody doesn't mind answering. 1) Did all the Decepticons "DIE" or are they just in stasis-lock? 2) Scorponk, what are they gonna do with him? Its clear hes still alive! 3) How come Megs and Prime only brought a couple of their soldier to earth?
The production can certainly retcon it now to say one of them was Starscream if they felt like it... but why would the human Raptor pilots suddenly forget that Starscream attacked them? Its not as if him transforming into alt mode makes it impossible to tell him apart from fellow Raptors. Given how difficult it is to follow the action in the final battle sequences, I think people are trying too hard to rationalise G1 elements into a character that well, had no characterisation at all besides his one brief conversation with Megatron. I'm also not happy that this rumour was quoted as canon on the Wikipedia. That's why we don't post unfounded rumours on the Transformers Wiki.
yeah i dont know if starscream was the one shooting i am pretty sure he was trying to save his own butt!
QFT. If I were an average moviegoer, I would have no real evidence that SS was a traitorous soldier in any shape or form (even with that bonus fleeing scene in the end).
I think we're all here making a big fuss out of nothing. Wait until the super deluxe special DVD directors cut with everything in the world on it, and then all your questions will be answered. Hey, two words: delected scenes. May that DVD be twenty-three hours long and 'splain all MIA Decepticons. On topic to who killed Megs... ("the butler!") If the Raptors were fighting Screamer and he conceals himself, in all that intense action they might forget who is friendly. They might see their superior swoop down to attack a hostile alien robot wrecking the city, see both jets fire (or one) and decided they should fire too. I'm amazed they didn't kill each other, but they must have codes inside their cockpits in which to identify their allies with, unless Frenzy's virus for the communications worked wonders on them as well. But, I'm sure the additional scene at the credits of Screamer abandoning Earth was a teaser for hidden plots to unfold. Maybe all this whohash will get the attention of some of the writers. But then again, this is Bay we're talking about.
well if you guys read the book "Ghosts of Yesterday", its pretty clear that SS would grab any chance of disposing Megatron without the others knowing it (making it look like an accident) and he's a very crafty Decep, I would say he also shot Megs.
I second that...many strange (and unfortunate) things have happened in the 'fog of war'. Imagine you flying with several of your squadronmates. This 'thing' looks just like one of you, it is transforming itself from F-22 to robot back to F-22...back to robot, then back to F-22....and your flight is taking fire from said 'thing'. It even has a hologram pilot when it's in Raptor mode. The human pilot looks over at his supposed 'wingman', thinking it is really him. I can easily believe this can happen, and I think that's what happened in the movie...very subtle.
When asked, Screenwriter Roberto Orci coyly said "interesting theory...." Methinks they will retcon it in the second one. For the general audience, with the way the movie was set up and havin' the decepticons only show up at the end (for greater effect...sorry I agree with this move, they can have their time in the limelight in the second film. Films have to be done different than movies and I'm a patient little grasshopper....loved the movie).....the general audience would have been confused as to why Starscream suddenly shot his leader. Many people don't know anything about Starscream, and since this is a reboot....Starscream's evil plotting nature needs to kind of be built up, not just assumed, or the general audience will be like....wtf? I think they purposely made it very vague, hoping fanboys would pick up on it and run with it, while keeping the general audience from being confused, and I bet they'll show it in a flashback with extra footage or something in the next film which will undoubtedly focus more on the Decepticons (It has to. The autobots were the plot vehicle in this one....they knew exactly what the Decepticons were up to. The 'Cons already had their plan...and the audience learned of it through Prime. In the next one...the autobots will have no idea what the Decepticons are doing, and we'll probably get to see Starscream making his plans, being a dick to his troops, etc, while the autobots and Sam/Mikaela are scrambling to catch up and figure out what Starscream is after.)
Starscream does trick the F-22s at one one point, you see him transform and drop in behind another one, as 'Stay On him" is said. And its in his character =]
No i can 99% guarantee that starscream fired missiles at megatron. first of all when starscream was in the air, after he took out about 4-5 f22s he was in front of the entire second wave of the real f22s. Then one guy from the f22 says, "stay on him, dont let him out of your sights". Then the next scene shows the very first f22 (which is starscream) swooping in and firing the first missile at megatron. Starscream is obviously the first f22 because the others were following him. So most likely, it was starscream.
I don't think it was him. If it did happen, I think it would be cool if SS went to shockwave and shockwave said something like SW:"Have you destroyed megatron?" SS:"yes I have" SW:"good now that he is out of the way I can finish my job and become Decepticon leader." SS: "But I should be...." SW: "Silence, you are nothing" Just a thought to clear things up if it were him.
Meg's gotta return from the bottom of the ocean. Maybe just his head will come up, like Frenzy's head after Sam kicked it.
Exactlly, I mean how come Megatron got damaged so badly? I mean the F22s weapons would'nt have damaged Megs that much, mabe a scratch! But I don't really stress over because I know he did it because a mere human weapon isn't gonna hurt most of the Transformers. But can some tell me how Blackout andBrawl died in the movie again?
No the jets had used the certain weapons that could damage him that badly but it could be starscream but I doubt it. The 2 pilots that did would have had to elaborate the plan and that would call for starscream's holo man to talk and we don't know if he can do that.
