Isn't WFC Soundwave pure awesomeness?

Yeah, he was hard to find for me as well. I finally went to a TRU and asked if they had any boxes in back. They did and I found it in an unopened box. I noticed it wasn't one to a box either.

It's definitely one of my favorites. Love the hell out of it. The unofficial radio mode is actually really cool, and despite being from WFC, the radio mode is enough for me to call it Classics Soundwave. But I think it'd be even better if he at least came with Laserbeak.

I like him well enough and it's a design that I wouldn't mind seeing imported to a Voyager-sized Soundwave figure. I'd rate it the second best of the WFC figures, behind Megatron but miles ahead of Prime and Bumblebee. However, I don't think it compares very well to the rest of the Generations line.

Does anyone have comparison pics for WFC Soundwave and United Soundwave? Makes me want to get one too now.

I prefer the WFC one. The united one throws in too many colors.

WfC Soundwave looks much better - I don't like that shiny, metallic blue United uses for him.

WFC soundwave is EPIC comepletely awesome
    Pros:
    -classic looking weapons
-weapon holder (SQUEEEEE now i can take him anywhere and his weapons are safe!)
    -AWESOME articulation
    -eye candy
-transformation is easy(if you have a ton of practice with other tformers)
-i havent played the game but the toy is game-acurate according to the screenshots.
    -again,eye candy
-probably would beat up ironhide a few times if he got aaa chance
    -very POWERFUL looking
    -#1 transformer i have!
-he looks a bit G1-ish BUT thats why i bought him.
    cons:
-his hips are WEIRD but they actually work cooly.
-hes a bit small compared to preivious deluxes i have bought/received but IDC

If you really want to have a perfect version, the Thugger twins and other Shapeways stuff being designed look pretty awesome too. I haven't gotten any of it yet, but I intend to. The figure really evokes the best of the character of Soundwave. WFC Prime is also very good for articulation, add ons, etc. Megatron is a figure that collapses into a wadded up ball, but he's one of the best versions we've gotten of him in that size class. Bumblebee could have been better, but overall, WFC's designs were very well done in figure form. Now if only we'd get a Slipstream and Brawl, I'd be happy.

I think they are all nice, and though I'm loath to mention scale in a TF discussion, the Prime was too small compared to the Bee, I love all the toys but Soundwave is the only one that didn't click with me. Might have to bring him down and have a fiddle with him.

As for people finding him, well he never came out in the UK, but I found him through someone on the boards on here, and there are enough collector fairs if you didn't mind paying a bit above retail. In the end, I sold my WFC Soundwave after replacing the entire range with United versions, I much prefer the Japanese paint-jobs :)

I love the WFC line

I wish I didn't put off getting BB because I was annoyed by the fact he's the same height as Prime. Yes, the scale is off between those two figures but the BB/CJ figure has such a satisfying transformation once you get good at it

My only real problem with the WFC line was just that it needed more figures. Some really great looking stuff that felt different yet familiar at the same time so I wanted even more of it. Hopefully with a new game they will give us even more than the first time.

I just got a Thugger and a Purrdator (who looks amazing as well).

I love Soundwave, definitely the best incarnation of him since the G1.

Megatron looks incredibly solid, I don't have him yet.

OP I don't have because I am sick to death of red and blue Primes... I would buy an Ultra Magnus or Nemesis Prime in a second.

I have Cliffjumper he's... ehhhhhh... the transformation's a pain and the amount of car he wears on his back is excessive. Plus I don't care for the proportions (specifically the Popeye forearms that don't even lock in, and the paunch he's packing).

Didn't realize this was such a necro thread until Alucard mentioned finding one at retail recently. :lol

But I agree, WFC Soundwave is awesome. Even better when glowing.

Zombie thread... But while I'm here:
Soundwave's the only WfC figure I got. Love the aesthetic, but the few other figures don't interest me. Can't wait to see what we get for FoC.

Definitely need to get a little minion(s) for him. One that can store in his chest. Are Thugger and Purrdator the only ones?

Same here. We didn't even get past the obligatory characters.
Here's hoping FoC gives more than the 5 we already got, Ironhide, Ratchet, and the Seekers.

A1Treadshot has a bunch more, a Laserbeak/Buzzsaw/Squawktalk, a Beastbox, an Eject/Rewind, and his own versions of Ravage and Frumble.

They're... less exciting. BUt the variety is nice.

    I'll just leave this here:

I do really love this Soundwave and all the War figures. I'm super pumped that Fall of Cybertron is getting a full line. I will likely buy the entire thing.

As for the Thuggers, they are worth every god damn cent. I cannot praise them enough. Fakebusker has the not-Ravage out and is working on the bird. I'll be getting the cat and some more Thuggers soon. You should too.
