You buy some new transformers and realise you dont really have room for them and you need to totally re-organise your display / case / shelf etc..

which may or may not include pleading with the wife that you need ANOTHER display / case / shelf etc..

    OR

Is that a great way to spend a saturday afternoon, lol!

Tell her you want to treat her to something at Ikea while you grab a new shelving unit.

They like presents. Makes them blind to your machinations.

I only have small bookshelves to display my toys - mostly Star Wars though, I don't display my TFs - and when the space runs out I put some toys away. It can be fun to change what you display every once in a while.

I suffer from this problem. I have to rotate my figures on display.

I actually like it. it gives me reason to pull out all the figures, dust them and rotate the otherwise stale display.

All my newest TFs since Generations and HftD wave 4 are sitting in a pile because I have no more room.

thankfully since my wife collects stuff too, Mainly "cute" things like Nendroids. So she understands the need for shelving and new shelving when we run out of space.

I've been facing this issue since... 2009. I don't have a lot of room to display all of my TFs in my bedroom, so the majority of my collection is being stored in Rubbermaid tubs.

Hopefully, when I move out, I will finally have the space I need to properly display all of them.

If only I had enough space in my room to get another shelf.

    ALWAYS a good plan.

I only have two shelves in our tiny apartment at the moment so I when new stuff stacks up I have to rearrange. But I enjoy doing it. also gives me a chance to clean/dust if need be.

I bought this massive Uncle Johns Bathroom reader and due to the lack of space on my bookshelve, I had to move 3 TF's onto my desk. I have no space.

LOL...this is funny because this just happened to me.

I have no room right now to place Wreck-Gar (riding another) and Perceptor on my shelf because Kup took up the last available spot. Was able to swap out my Titanium Scourge for the Generations one.

Whenever the hell the Voyagers come out.......oh hell. :lol

I rotate my collection in and out of storage. Less than a third of it is out at any one time. I get to enjoy my entire collection over the year, but I don't have a cluttered looking mess of a display. When I see pics of people's shelves/rooms loaded to the breaking point it just looks like visual diarrhea to me. Doesn't do the individual pieces justice imo.

Every time I get a new figure I have to rearrange my shelf to fit them in. There's just no space left on my Classics/Universe/Generations/RTS/United Season 1&2 Autobots and Season 3+ Decepticons shelves and the Season 3+ bots and Season 1&2 Cons shelves are looking pretty full too.

didn't run out of space, but added a huge new cabinet to spread out the classics. they were way to cluttered for my taste, but if i have to store them, time to sell, no point in owning something i have to dig through a box to transform

I'm always struggling to find another display space when I get something new. Used to be I'd take something off long term display and put it into storage to make a space but I've pretty much reached the point where I quite like the ones I have out and I can't really decide what to store away now without feeling a bit bummed about it. Figures have taken over almost every flat surface in my room so when I want to use something I have to shift a figure out of the way.

And feel pity for me, as yesterday I bought HFTD Leader Starscream and that thing's gonna be a serious bastich to find a space for.
