I'm thinking about getting the first volume on DVD, and I'm wondering if Voltron is any good?

I have first volume, blue lion in the tin set and the second volume, yellow lion in the tine set, they are both worth it.

Check your local super wal-marts for the tin sets they are worth the price and it is not a lot.

I'm waiting for the GoLion DVD's myself, but Voltron is great, if you grew up watching the series like I did.

It's a good series, you should pick it up. You won't regret it.

It's one of the few series that got me into anime (much like Starblazers and Robotech did).

I second this. Unless you've got nostalgia influencing you, wait for the GoLion release.

Voltron is great, considering that it's a somewhat badly dubbed, heavily edited anime import from the 1980s. I've occasionally watched it very early in the morning on Cartoon Network, and it's mostly painless. The fond memories from my childhood make it easier to tolerate all the cheese though. Dunno if you'd have that benefit or not.

Like Frognal and Toonces, I'm waiting for the uncensored, uncut GoLion release.

I like it. Of course I do have nostalga going for me on it too. It cane be a bit cheesy, but from viewing the extras on the first set, The music seems to be cheesier on GoLion. The opening theme was.

Actually, I think the music on Voltron is the main reason I still like it.

The Voltron music kicks ass for an '80s cartoon. The music for Teknoman also kicked ass, but the uncensored, uncut Tekkaman Blade was still better overall. I'm betting on that being the case with GoLion as well.
