Not a bad figure, but it's quite underwhelming for an Ultra Class figure, especially the transformation scheme.

he's fun, but he's painfully simple to transform, and the shape of his heels and feet limit his posability.

but he looks really cool standing on a shelf.

if you like robots with planes strapped to their backs, then yes, he's very cool.

    Is he worth it?

    Very much so.

I still stand by my past statement: Just because it is simple to transform does by no means make it a bad figure. Many G1 figures were simple as shit to transform. Were they bad toys?

    No.

I say buy him, I like him more than Powerglide, and just as much as Onslaught, in fact.

If you like G1-style transformation and a sleek looking jet this is the bot for you. If you want complexity look elsewhere.

    No.

The issue is not so much with his transformation, but with his design. He is not a Transformer. He is a plane with a helluva lot of undercarriage, or he is a robot with a plane for a backpack.

However, this works very well for Darkwind. Pick him up instead.

Not at full price, no. If you can get him for cheap, then yes. Though I will say he is a great update of the G1 toy.

I just wish they had put in the ability for him to combine.. even if they never made the other 4 aerial bots.. it would have been nice to have the oppertuinity to do so at a future point in time..

He looks really nice.. But I think I actually like the toy better as Darkwind or whatever his name is..

It's a very accurate representation of the character, even down to the transformation to some extent, but it's fairly simplistic for an Ultra. If you really want a copy of the mold, go for the TRU-exclusive Darkwind repaint.

I really think it only has one detraction to it. Yes it's simple and more or less just carrying his alt mode on his back, but i don't have that big a problem with that. Finding where to put robot parts have been a problem nearly since the beginning of Transformers.

The main problem I have with it is the head design. It's rather annoying that his head is always looking down.

Good point, but sorry, he's not a good figure anyway. His leg articulation is useless because of the poor heels and the thin, hollow legs, his arms have just a decent range of movement, and his electronics are poorly designed, with the lights in his head useful only in mid-transformation.

I bought him for less than half his retail cost and I still don't like him. He's good shelf presence next to Onslaught, but good for nothing else.
