    Pretty much covers it.
Since when did you start acknowledging Bayformers?

Was anyone else thinking of "Transformers are the monster" type horror, rather than "horror movie starring Transformers"? Like, for example, Trypticon in place of Godzilla. Then again, that would put a good deal of focus on the humans, and we all know how much they're loved. [/sarcasm]

Transformers once did an Alien themed comic in the Matrix Quest with Bee, Jazz, & Grimlock back in the Marvel days. DreamWave had a Town overrun with Insecticons that Jazz, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker and Bumper had to shut down. Like Ginger said City of fear UK was great.

The F.N.G.: I think that "Transformers are the monster" concept was a big part of the Bayverse's approach to things, is that the Decepticons are the monster, in the sense that you describe.

Of course, as you point, out, it would put focus on the humans, and if that focus is on them/us as much as on the Autobots, then they need to be well-done and sympathetic. No Mikos, Kickers, or Armada kids here. More Lennoxes and Epps-type characters, with Simmons, Fanzone, and Faireborn thrown in.

Last Stand of the Wreckers did this, didn't it? I'm not sure the Transformers setting is viable as a horror backdrop, beyond the already grotesque robot damage we see occasionally.

And by extension, the pornographic version: Trans-WHORE-mers. Or Tranny-formers.

I had a concept for what would essentially ammount to a Transformers horror story: Vampiric Headmasters. A normal Headmaster(a version where they're humanoids, not smaller robots) gets turned into a vampire, and it has strange, powerful effects on the Headmaster functions. It could play out with Dracula being captured and forced to become a Headmaster for a powerful Decepticon, or you could have it so Dracula starts controlling non-Headmaster robots by way of the Vampiric Headmasters being able to turn other Transformers while in robot mode. Mindwipe would likely have a HUGE role in this story, as he's already got some powers related to vampires. Maybe he could save the day?

Yeah, I think TF horror could work.:D

You don't even have to go full-on balls-out horror to have horror in it. There are plenty of scenes in say, Bayformers, that if altered slightly could be fantastically frightening.

Laserbeak is an obvious example. Imagine them playing up the whole "I can transform into anything"-power. You've got an alien robot bird who wants to murder you. It's the size your bed and take the form of virtually any small-to-medium sized appliance. You're running through a dark alley-way and you hear the garbage cans behind you clatter. You turn around to see a dark form fly behind a building. Every vending machine and television set you see makes you nervous. You finally make it home. Phew. You're safe. You close all of the windows and lock all of the doors. You decide to make a warm glass of milk to help try and calm your nerves. But you notice that your microwave is askew. And that one of the windows is open, the breeze flapping the blinds. You turn around in horror to discover your freakin' microwave has transformed. You throw the milk at it and race into your room, but to no avail. Suddenly monstrous talons rip down the door, but before you can scream, blood is already splattered against the posters on your wall. (scary music and dark atmosphere is a given)

Or picture Duel, but instead of the tanker truck it's Barricade. A mysterious vehicle that just won't stop stalking you. Just won't. Give. Up.

The entire concept of "giant murderous alien shape-shifting robots" in general has a lot of horror potential.

    This, just this.

Hell, the way they played it in the Dark of the Moon novelization, with Laserbeak advancing on the mother and daughter at the end of the scene was damned terrifying. Just model most of the Decepticons on Laserbeak, with other guys like BW Rampage, Airachnid in her outing in "Predatory," the DJD, and have a brutal mix of Overlord and Beast Machines Megatron leading them, and let them all cut loose, and we already have a horror flick on our hands.

Wow, nice. They could have had a montage of similar scenes like in DOTM.

But I think something like THE GRUDGE, starring Violen Jiger as the entity of tormented souls of slain Transformers, would work very easily. The Japanese media has a lot of elements that really should be introduced into American media and used.

I always got a horror film vibe from Frenzy in the '07 movie. It was a bit creepy with him lurking around Airforce One.

It's pretty scary to think that something you're carring around could come to life and kill you. Or, that your car is actually a robot, could transform with you still inside and rip you to shreads.

I'll defend Alexis as being able to be on your latter list, the other four walking twat-cakes that pass for people in Armada I would happily consign to the Phantom Zone.

    And long live Marissa Faireborn!
