I found a $64 ROTF Devastator the other day and can't make up my mind on whether I should pick it up or wait and hope for a better deal. Advice? I appreciate any input.
i kinda like it personally-less posable than the Energon Combiners, but stays together better (at least in my experience) i think he's fun
i have 2 of them...they are ok aside from the constant noises when he gets moved...pull the batteries out...
Well to each their own. I'm a sucker for large transformers and combiners and this one fits both requirements (barely on the combiner part). Wow, 2? Do you keep one MISB? And I plan to take out the batteries (I do for all my TFs with electronics.)
He's a pretty neato figure as is, IMO. You'll want to take the batteries out though... the thing goes off constantly. If you have the skills to repaint him, he can be a quite awesome figure.
I tell myself I'll buy him when I see him at the $60 price. It's still a lot of money, but I've got to get him eventually...
That's how I feel, but I was hoping to see it under $50. $64 is close so it's tempting, but I just don't know if it will go any lower or if I'll ever see it in stores again.
I don't think you are going to find it cheaper than that. The cheapest I had seen it was at BJ's Wholesale. Here in South Florida he has sold out. I havne't seen him at TRU, Target, or Wal Mart since mid December, so I'd jump on it if you want it before others do.
I've been saying I wouldn't pay anymore than $20 for it. I ended up finding one at a thrift shop for $25 and regret the purchase. If you just look at it funny it makes noise. Its hard to believe its part of the same line as leader Prime and the human alliance figures. Even the ultimate Bumblebee is better.
If I liked the figure and had the space, I would not have a problem paying $64 for what you get. I say go for it if you think you will like it.
wait it out a couple months and get it for 10-25 later. anything over that is too much for a megazord
If you really want the thing, I'd say buying it and keeping the receipt would be the way to go. That or stash the thing really well until it goes on deeper clearance, but that's riskier. Also, if they're not marked down and your stashed one is the only one left, you're pretty boned on paying what the rest went for.
