Either a total moron wrote that, or Georgia is filled with Doogie Howsers.

From the one actual case of that happening led to that question being typed.

Scarier is reading down the list of answers, that basically say a 16 year old Georgian with a worker's permit is legally allowed to supervise a crew of other 16 years olds at 1AM in a fast food restaurant, and no breaks are required. That explains my not-so-good Taco Bell experience just over the border from Tennessee while driving back from Botcon. Well, either that, or it maybe the fact that it was Taco Bell.

I think the FAQ writer has a sense of humor. Rather than write the actual frequently asked question for that answer, they exaggerated it to the point of ridiculousness.

Basically early graduation kids from HS still need a work permit.

I doubt it is possible for a 17 year old to get a PHD because a PHD requires subjective aspects that simply I don't think would ever happen as I can't see a university allowing it.

    So Yeah... Bunk question.

Wow...I think they needed an example for a particular TYPE of situation, but they just got carried away.

I graduated high school at 16, but a PHD at 17? That's crazy. It's crazy.

There might be some truth to that question. I could see there being a lot of 17 year olds with children in Georgia.

    Being 17!

I don't think it's even possible to get a doctorate at 17. Most child genius types fly through high school and so forth because A) High school isn't difficult (got to cater to everyone) and B) Most assessment is based on the ability to remember a lot of things. A research based doctorate requires different kinds of thinking and no "remember all these facts and spit them back" exams. Those things take time and you can't just skip a year.
