Yes, along as it complies with the following:
9. Do Not Steal Bandwidth
Hotlinking to an image on another site could result in your image being replaced by a nasty or pornographic image. Use a photo hosting website.
You are allow a single image in your signature. Your signature may not exceed 500 pixels in width or 300 pixels in height. Your signature image may not exceed 40kb in file size. If you have a signature image, you are allowed two lines of normal sized text under it. You are required to host the image yourself or on a photo hosting website. If you break these guidelines, your signature will be removed.
How will I know that the image is free of nasty image linking?
ImageShack or PhotoBucket allow free image hosting. Save the picture, then upload it there, and they provide you with the code to put it in your signature here.
"Hot-linking" is the issue, where you take that URL you posted and use the IMG code. Then the webmaster finds out, decides to play a joke, and replaces that filename with porn instead.
Then you get infracted because you were hot-linking (and stealing bandwidth, as it loads off his server on to this one).
I have Windows Picture and Fax Viewer and Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Are those okay or should I just save the image in a word or paint document and then upload from there?
Just right click the image (once it's loaded on your screen through your web browser), and click "Save Picture/Image/Target As". Once you've done that, go to one of those two photo hosting websites, register, make an album, upload the picture, and you'll be good to go!
Separate names with a comma.
