So Saturday the wifey and I went to Ximen in Taipei to pick up my birthday present and while we were there, I spotted this

    Black Megatron

selling for $53 USD. Since my wife had already picked out my gift (Animated Ultra Magnus), I passed on Megatron, but have been thinking about it on and off since. I've been looking for a decent collector's type item to add to my collection and was wondering if this was a good item.

    Thanks for any info guys!

Its an ok price, nothing great. Demand for that re-issue was pretty low and it didn't sell very well. Most just prefer the original colors.

I think the main reason for that is that it doesn't have the black chrome on the chest and arms like the original e-hobby release did. That was the only reason I didn't buy one. Instead I was able to track down an original release.

If it was the original 16-S, then it's an outstanding price. If not, it's still a good price, but the black chrome looks way better, IMO.

The chrome pieces on the original e-hobby Megs were a black chrome not a silver chrome. It looks great with the brown grips.

I think it is a good price, most places sell him for $80 +. If you like the G1 Megatron mold, do it.

oh wow? Jafcon Prime cost me a pretty penny and that one was 1 of 2000. If this is half of that, i'm going to have to stick with my encore ehobby Megatron.

Thanks for the info, guys. Next time I'm at the hobby shop, if I have the cash on me and they still have the figure, I'll probably pick it up.
