I see that there's an exclusive Barricade/Bumblebee 2-pack and also an exclusive Blackout/Scorponok 2-pack. Is there anything "exclusive" about the figures besides the fact that they're in a 2-pack...?

I believe they are the same figures that are sold separatly. The only thing special about them is that they would be a bit cheaper buying them together rather than individually.

Two packs like that are generally for kids when they're on a "you can only get one thing" toy trip. Kind of a sneaky way to get two toys out of their parents.

Well, I got Barricade and Bumblebee for only $7.50 each shipped from HTS with their newest promotion. I really have no desire to get Scorpy, but if the two pack with him is the same or cheaper than Blackout alone, I might bite.

I remeber we spoke on the Desert Pack earlier, which is Scorponok and Blackout. This includes Blackout and the mini-sized scorponok and the regular sized scorponok. It is a toys r us exclusive and costs $24.99. While the seperate figures cost $19.99 and $9.99, so you could save about $5 - $7 at least with tax heh?

Only $5 retail savings? Considering I have zero desire to own the deluxe Scorponok, the only way I'd have gotten him is if he was basically free. $20 for the set. $25 is $5 too much. I'll just buy Blackout for $20.
