They went looking for a new one, and fixed the ruins of the old one using Nucleon during "G2".

It wasn't covered in any classic fiction, only being retroactively explained in a timeline published in 2007 as taking place between "Operation Combination" and "Generation 2". The timeline explained that it was done using Nucleon, in reference to the bio of the 2001 exclusive "Nucleon Quest" repaint of Powermaster Optimus Prime, which had previously not dated its events, describing them as only taking place during a time of great energy shortage.

Unless I'm forgetting something, they never visit Cybertron again in any of the sequel series. Masterforce is entirely in the solar system, Victory visits other planets but not Cybertron, and Zone only has Earth and the Micromaster homeworld.

The bigger problem is that Mars is mentioned a few times after it's destroyed in Headmasters.

Also, Galvatron doesn't destroy Cybertron, in fact, he actively tries to stop it from being destroyed. It's Zarak that destroys it.
