Is there any chance that the combiners could be re-issued in the Encore line?

    Certian molds are still available:

Bruticus Used nine times (partal detail loss/retooled)
    Predaking Used twice
    Seacons Used three times
    Terrorcons Twice
    Monstructor Twice
    Computron Twice
    Defensor Used Five Times

The molds for Meansor, Superion and Devastator are said to be lost/destroyed after the G-2 line.

Hopefully they can reverse-engineer the molds... if you're gonna re-release combiners, you gotta do Devs... right?

i can see them doing Bruticus, and maybe predaking again, and since hasbro is doing, Seacons, i can see them doing them in either, G1 or bw2 colors.

i do not see, terrorcons, monstructor, or computron being reissued though.

Bruticus, Defensor, Menasor, Superion, and Devastator, to me, WOULD be the most likely reissued combiners. and possibly Raiden. destroyed molds or not, they COULD still reissue them some how, reverse molds, or something, with or with out, massive retooling.

but these WERE the more popular combiners, of G1.

i do also, see, takara, reissuing RID combiners as well, though. and maybe even hasbro, as Universe 2.0 toys.

unless of course, they've lost the license, already.

The trains, we've been told before, were too expensive to realistically reissue. I'm not sure if anything has changed since then.

I would also assume the Aerialbots to be lost, since they would probably have been recycled for RiD as store exclusives in place of Ruination Deco #4 had they been readily available and ready to use.

It would be nice if these guys could be reissued somehow, though.

Really? I didn't know the Aerialbots mold was lost. What about those cheap knockoffs I always see around Christmas? That would be too bad. I would love a Aerialbots and Stunticons reissue.

Those KOs are made illegally using reverse engineered originals I guess. That's why KOs tend to be slightly off in size, or not fit together as well.

I don't actually know for certain if they are lost, but I would have assumed that Hasbro would have attempted a reissue giftset like the (aborted) Seacons or Ruination's main reissues. The Aerialbots would have worked great - a box of five toy planes who turn into robots then make one big robot! In fact, I think that would probably be more marketable than the Seacons would have been.

If they ever do one, I think the first one will be Devastator, thats why Im trying to stay clear from the KO.

Nice idea, but really, don't hold your breath, because as has been said, "lost/destroyed mould". Barring reverse engineering, which is not something they typically do, you're probably not getting an official reissue Devastator at all.

Im almost sure that they'll do a Bruticus reissue someday ! ... maybe next year?

I can imagine that Liokaiser is a lost/destroyed mold aswell ... or maybe not?

Liokasier was only used twice Japan and Europe the U.S. never got a release of that mold, It would make an awesome TRU/Target exclusive if ever done.

Bruticus may not get another U.S. release, But may end up in the encore line.

Liokasier mold is said to be missing the last two member though (Gaihawk and Hellbat), thats why Europe never got them

They had a profile for Devastator on their G1 page for some time, maybe they're trying to find a way to re-release it some day...

What is the case of these molds being lost/destroyed? Where do they keep these molds at?

Another round of Predaking would be nice. Personally I would love to see either Abominus or Menasor as there the only 2 I want and dont have (aside from Liokeiser of course which at this point seems like a distant fairy tail :cry )

I would guess in the original factories :lolol

All kidding aside, back when TF's first came out Hastak was using molds that already had been used many times in Japan for the various lines (Diaclone, Microchange, etc...) Some molds just wore out after use and others were consided lost to Theft as even in the TF's hayday you had K.O.'s

And I doubt they really took good care of the Molds, but degradation would also be the cause of the molds being destroyed.

I think we've got unrealistic expectations when it comes to Hasbro, Takara, and the factories maintaining the molds... some folks seem to think there's an Indiana Jones-style warehouse somewhere with all the molds from the last 25 years neatly boxed, labelled, and ready for use. In fact, I asked a related question in the upcoming Q&A thread. Since 98% of that thread is just the same old "Are you going to make X toy", I'm hoping that question might make it in.

Not too many people in 1987 were thinking about re-releases of TF toys 20 years down the road. The fact that ANYTHING from G1 is still around and useable is impressive, to me anyway. I believe we've gotten most of the G1 molds that are workable and considered to be financially viable (in other words, while maybe the Sparkbots are still available, it's unlikely they would be made).

I'd like to see Predaking, either in Encore or from HTS.
