If there isn't there really oughtta be, there is such diversity in the people who come here.
No we do not. Had one before, noone used it so when we upgraded some time ago, we ditched the chat room.
Do you think one would reopen if there was a demand?
I can't see demand. Since chats are pretty outdated - and unnecessary - with the onset of internet forums, it'd suffer the fate of the old one really quickly.
If nothing else, some of the really old timers from back when we didn't have many forums and talked mostly on newsgroups pop into IRC from time to time. IRC isn't as cool as it used to be, but you may like that environment of "real time".
Yeah the shout box died as well, but not from lack of use.
the shoutbox sucked. especially when near the end all it ever had was a single guy spamming links to his ebay auctions over and over.
And there was that guy who knew his ABCs... 3000+ shouts in 7 hours...
I miss the shoutbox (even though only a few of us used it)
Sorry, no. I don't see us ever opening another.
The only reason to have IRC now would be to get quotes from people like Ops and jiggles onto bash.org
Bah, just take the forum posts and rewrite the format so it looks like you copied it from the mirc window.
no offense but i was never a fan of IRC it seemed to crazy like there were more channels than people that used it...
/me is aroused.
*slaps llama with a trout*

I think this thread has run its course.
