Is there a reason sea vehicles Transformers aren't made?

It seems pretty minute compared to the vast amounts of cars and other ground vehicles, and there's usually a handful aerial bots/cons, but why so few? Seems like there's usually less than 5 in an entire line (I don't know for sure but)...

EDIT: I wanted to finish the title saying "made a lot?"

Because they aren't all that popular. Kids vastly prefer cars and jets. You'll have to make do with your occasional Seaspray and Depthcharge.

I don't know... As a kid they're harder to play with you know? Land vehicles you roll. Aircraft you can simulate flight by holding the figure up in the air, moving it, and making sounds. Boats and subs are just kinda awkward. You can put them nect to the land vehicles but they'll look silly... And you can't really put them in water.

Oh god, so they're like the Aquaman of transformers? Hahaha!

But in seriousness, I'm hoping for a sale on voyagers to get Sea Spray at Target. I shouldn't worry right? I see two every time I go to this one target.

It's already $16. If you want the toy, stop being cheap and just pay up for it.

The obvious reasons are they're not as aesthetically pleasing. Some have hidden wheels so you can roll them around, but some are like Depth Charge and just transform into paper weights. Maybe one day they'll discover a way to make a water themed Transformer that can actually float in water without being ruined.

Also, they all tend to look very similar and not easily distinguishable.

Pretty much every big retail store has $16 voyagers for the Holiday season.

Target doesn't. Check on the sales thread, no Wal-Mart near by to get that 16 dollar voyager.

So next time you're feeling like eating a Big Mac, DON'T, and then take the money and add it to your Seaspray fund.

    Seems pretty simple to me.

This is what I've always figured. And in the cartoons and comics... There aren't a whole lot of water related missions are there? Except for the G1 toon, but that's about it. They wouldn't see a whole lot of action, and that's kind of the point of having a character in a Transformers cartoon.

I don't think this is off topic, but I don't eat fast food enough that it burns a hole in my wallet. Only times I do, I buy fries at an In-n-Out. Just hoping for a Christmas sale, and Terradive isn't showing up and I had no interest in PPC 5 packs in the 10 dollar deal.

Concerning the no missions on land, I took a short nap and had a dream about how Decepticons could theoretically try to wipe out earth by activating volcanoes through shooting the sea floor (if that's not right, then don't blame me I didn't do the research) or something like that using flying D-cons', and would be a moment for sea and sky Bots, since I don't think land based cons are amphibious/waterproof.

...I don't know where I'm going with this.

Actually sounds like a plot that could have worked in one of the cartoons so go for it if you get the figure try and make a photo comic or something

    HtfD Sea S.P.Ray
    RotF Depthcharge/Sonar
    Cybertron Shortround/Uni Storm Surge
    Cybertron Thunderblast
    Energon Mirage/Dreadwing
    Armada Tidal Wave

Yeah, we don't get a whole lot of sea-faring TFs, but I'd say the ones we do get are pretty quality figures.

i dont think its just TFs too. look at something like MASK, water vehicles are in the minority too.

but theres exceptions like GI joe which has quite a bit of water vehicles. in fact, their biggest playsets one.

i personally think we get, if not many, enough water vehicles with peaks in certain lines, like cybertron, which had thunderblast, shortround and that little minicon guy.
