The IDW comics Revolution event melds together the Transformers, GI Joe and MASK sagas into one universe. I think it’s fair to say that if a Hasbro Cinematic Universe (HCU) is put into effect, of which the Transformers Cinematic Universe (TFCU) would be a part of, that event could be a likely template/influence for building it up.

AOE has already featured elements of the IDW TF comics, with heads in labs, Transformers being hunted, humans working with Decepticons, and the appearance of Drift and the Dinobots. So it's fair to say that future films may draw a lot from the IDW comics.

As far as crossovers and comic adaptations go, I’d like to see an adaptation of Tom Scioli‘s “Transformers vs GI Joe” comic. It’d be a standalone story and perhaps near-impossible, but it would be awesomely insane if they could pull it off.

The closest you're probably gonna get is Combiner Wars.

Yep, i think we can all put away any dreams of official IDW to screen adaptations for a while.

I'd rather see animated adaptions in the of the DC direct to DVD movies. As long as machmania has nothing to do with it.

Hasbro is trying its damnedest to force IDW continuity into adapting to whatever they're mainstreaming in the movies/cartoons as it is, unfortunately.

It's no different from what they did to the Marvel TF and Joe books in the 80s.

I always enjoyed how Larry Hama handled the mandated 'showcase the toys' demands. He'd have 1-2 issues featuring them then instantly ignore them and go back to his favorite characters. 1st wave Stalker stayed pretty prominent through the whole series.

I'd love to see an animated series that's based off the premise of the -ations.

I'd hope not, the comics confused me when it came to the story and it hasn't gotten any better with the Combiner Wars series. I admit, the IDW comics do have some interesting ideas but I feel the negatives outweigh the positives.

Combiner Wars already brought out the best of what IDW's comics have to offer, so no thank you.

    Except it didn't...

I assume you're talking about the Machinima series? Asides from the basic concepts of the Enigma of Combination, Caminus, the Mistress of Flame, and Starscream being involved in Cybertron's post-war government, it's borrowed pretty much nothing from IDW.

I'm trying to say most of the IDW content isn't all that great.

I would really like to see IDW in an animated form, whether it be anime-esc, or 3D cel shading. They could have miniseries' like LSOTW be movies or OVA-like material. Dark Cybertron, Combiner Wars, and Titans Return could all be Season Finales of sorts.
I would love for Ocean or any Canadian talent group to do the voice work for the series. They've done the best VA work for any Transformers series.

LSOTW would be great as a DC-styled DTV movie. I honestly don't know how they would do the post-war IDW material, even though that's the more popular and consistently good part of the continuity.

Going back to my last post, however, I really think Furman's ideas of the Infiltration protocol, the 3 kids, having Megatron and Optimus be more background players, at least at first, and a galaxy-spanning multi-front conflict, would be really cool ideas to adapt into a series. The problem is that Furman moves a bit too quickly out of those ideas, so a direct adaptation wouldn't be as cool. Basically, take the original Infiltration miniseries, sprinkle in some Stormbringer, and add some original content, and I think you'd have a solid Transformers show for a season at least.

Transformers AND M.A.S.K. and GI Joe!!!! News to me.
I'm just getting into IDW. Is it collected in TPB yet, or scheduled for one?

I've not read LSoTW yet, but an OVA of a mini sounds great to me.

I have a feeling that AOE and TLK are taking elements of the Knights of Cybertron concept from IDW and applying it to the movie universe especially with The Last Knight having a heavy knight theme.

Probably not no, as much as I would love to see an adaptation of Last Stand of the Wreckers, it's honestly a pointless venture when we've already got the comics to read. Plus TFWiki would have to divide the continuity of the adaptations as a separate universe from the comics if there's any major or minor changes, that would get too confusing. :D
