I wonder if there's a checklist for the toys we're getting in May of 2011?

    That's only 4 months away!

Hasbro must have completed a lot of the toys by now, as they have to have been mass-produced and gotten ready to ship.

Stores will start getting them as soon as March, I'd think.

What I'd like to see is a list, such as:

    LEADER CLASS:

    (new) Megatron
(likely) Optimus Prime - has to be since he's the main character (a re-release?)
    (possible) Starscream - re-release, repaint?

Will Shockwave fit in the line here?

and sure, I'd love a Decepticon helicopter in the likes of Blackout / Grindor in LC - but anyone know what we're going to get?

They could also re-issue Brawl and Jetfire, just to capitalize on the attention paid to the brand during a movie year.

    VOYAGER CLASS:

    Optimus (likely)
Megatron (new form, surely Voyager class)
    Starscream (re-release, repaint, probable)

There are many re-release possibilities here, of course.

    DELUXE CLASS:

    (obviously) the Ferrari (Hot Rod?)
    (?) Wheeljack

the re-releases are obvious, with new gimmicks and paint schemes of course

The Wreckers might see Deluxe class

    SCOUT CLASS:

Oh, how I'd love to see Bumblebee and the other Autobot cars redone as Scouts!

    LEGENDS CLASS:

Re-releases are obvious, with some new additions of course. The rest (or most) of the Constructicons will surely be single-carded Legends taken from the Devastator sets, too.

    HUMAN ALLIANCE:

If Hasbro keeps this line going, the Ferrari (Hot Rod?), any incarnation of Wheeljack (a Mercedes?), and the Wreckers might see production.

This line still badly aches for Decepticons!

    Wrong section.
    This belongs in toy dicussion,
    not news&rumors.
    edit: it has been moved.

    Too early for list.
We probably won't get an accurate list until toy fair next february.
We don't even have an accurate & complete list of the TF's in movie3.
Just speculation on prop cars seen on set.
    Patience.

How could we have a checklist? At this point, I don't think there's even been official confirmation of a toyline, and there sure haven't been any leaks of toys. (I know we're getting one, don't start wailing at me.)

I would maybe expect in a few weeks around Christmas time some news. Definately will know about the first few waves in February when Toy Fair roles around.

The stolen Chinese toys will start leaking out pretty soon, but of course the only one's we'll really be looking out for are any new molds. There will be a few preview toys as well, hopefully more than two this time.

Why would there be one out 8 months before the movie, 6 months before the movie's toyline hits, and 2-3 months before the next major toy convention of any sort?

I've been thinking of reviving the speculation thread I made back when they were filming on location.

If you recall, images of the first prototypes of Generations figures appeared at the end of October 2009.

The actual figures eventually showed up in June.

Oh, that I'm not disputing. I'm just question the notion that we would have anything substantive as of yet that would qualify as a "checklist"

I think the movie is for July 1st release.

The toyline will be in stores then for a June release at the latest. It's always 1-2 months ahead.

To get the toys ready for displays and a specified street date, they ship them almost a month ahead of time with those "do not open until..." labels on them that employees have "overlooked."

So now were up to April (July 1, back to June 1 (release), back to May 1 (possible early ship) and the toy manufacturing (Jan-April and likely earlier - not to mention the designing aspect - much earlier than now (December 2010).

So they know. There's a checklist somewhere.

And yes, the leaks usually come from the Orient where the stuff's being made.

Obviously, any patience won't come from me. lol

We'll find out more info at Toy Fair in February, and given prior experiences, online retailers will have the stuff for pre-order around April for a May/June release.

But yeah, Hasbro isn't going to say a thing before Christmas, and probably not until Toy Fair. Yes, they probably know EXACTLY what is being made, but have chosen NOT to reveal that to public at this point (it is worth noting that the STar Wars team is already developing the 2012 toyline at this point, so Transformers are likely in a similar boat)
