I've been thinking: What if Optimus Prime could use the Matrix of Leadership to restore the Star Saber. Megatron may now have the left arm of one Prime as his own, but Optimus has the Matrix of Leadership, the collective power and wisdom of all the Primes. Bearing that in mind, It's possible he could use the energy of the Matrix to repair and restore the Saber.
I've asked that question myself. It should repair the broken blade, because according to the Transformers myth, the Matrix of Leadership was originally part of the Star Saber. So reuniting the two should fix the sword
I wouldn't be surprised if that happened. I doubt something as big as the Star Saber will just disappear after two episodes.
I'm terribly disappointed that the Star Saber, "Forged by the great Solus Prime himself," was broken by a rock-paper-scissors made by Megatron in his first attempt. Just seems really disappointing to me.
Optimus is still wearing the sheath that Ratchet made for the Star Saber...so hoping it makes a sweeping return.
The fact that Megatron's blade was created using the Blood of Unicron probably tipped the scales in his favor. I figured that Optimus was still wearing the Star Saber harness because decoding the final coordinates takes priority over removing it.
I will forgive its shelving if there is a scene with Optimus reforging the sword to the tune of 'Anvil of Crom'. Otherwise, I share your disappointment.
Herself. But I was in shock. You could tell from how Prime dropped to his knees that he was devastated. As if he just lost Alpha Trion all over again. As if all hope had slipped through his fingers. Further evidenced by the fact he said nothing when he got back to base and went right to work. I really hope he's able to fix it. I don't care if he blasts it with Matrix Magic or commandeers the Jackhammer and crashes it into the Nemesis to walk out with the Forge; he needs it back.
Could be, I thought at first it was just an animation error...but I'd like to hold out some hope for its return. Prime should have the forge and repair the Saber...but it may never happen.
While it would be great to see the Star Saber repaired and wielded by Optimus again, I think it should stay broken. As Ratchet said, Optimus doesn't need it to be a great warrior. I'm sure he'll find some way to defeat Megatron without an über powerful sword.
It's possible Optimus could use the Matrix to repower and restore it, but I suspect he'll just get the Forge back and fix it up good as new. Either way, I don't mind. If he gets it back or not, I'm sure Optimus will go do something cool anyway
I think there's a difference between the Matrix of Leadership restoring Optimus' memories, and restoring a shattered, ancient Star Saber. I do think the Star Saber has a chance of being repaired, though.
